a few questions about the new stuff.
1. how does disabling searches benefit us?
does it help in load time? does it just cut down on clutter in the
menu? if having all searches loaded isn't hurting anything, why
bother? who knows, in some rare occurrence you may need a search you have

active desktop locked?

Glenn seems to have set up that non-members can post. BUT i had the same
problem and was able to solve it.
I use MS Outlook at work and home. I can only check home e-mail from home
but can check both from work. But i can only send from work e-mail from
work (something with how the exchange
that doesn't work in my case. at work if i use Outlook to check both
accounts, i can get the e-mails. but because of how Outlook and Exchange
interact, i can _only_ send through the work e-mail (Exchange account). it
does not give me the option to change the send as/from.

one of the 2.5.8 betas, then you should have a localprefs.js. The settings
here will override the settings in preferences.js. So if you have a
localprefs.js check what showbutton= is set to there.

locally(I couldn't get it to work using the local
wsdl).
open history.txt and empty it. depending on what you want to clear you may
want to do the same with mrumenu.txt. alternatively you could delete these
files as i think DQSD will recreate them as necessary. i usually just open
the files and remove the entries i want cleared.

aah, i did the unregister of the 258 dll and then ran the beta 9 install.
then i rebooted and it worked through one reboot. hoping that would be the

referred to it as the foot... it is usually to the left side of dqsd, but i
think can be to the right by some option or something), a menu pops up. one
of the choices is close toolbar.

I was one of the original opponents to the Snippets feature. But then I had
a use for it, so I was forced to change my opinion. I have a few questions
for you about it.
1. Can you think of any way it can become an add-on? I'm probably not much
help, but I'm very willing to try and help.
alternatively if you want to limit the load on start-up, you could
delete the .xml files for searches that you don't use. this could be a
pain though as it would need done at each upgrade. but until the
disable feature stops the searches from loading, it will work.

I had forgotten all about that. In XP, it is a tab on the 'date and time
properties' page (double click on the time in your tray). It seems to
trigger once a week and isn't configurable as to the frequency of syncs.
Now to figure out how to call it command line and silent or something...

don't have a localsearch.css? You should have one of each (search.css and
localsearch.css) Localsearch.css is where you'd change the default setting
to match your liking. Now if you search through these files, you might see
entries like this:
font: menu;

have uploaded this for you. I took the liberty of renaming it to bta.xml
and the function to bta so that a conflict won't occur should someone want to
search google for the word beta.
