Vista...
Let this be a warning: if I right-click the chevron and go to Configure >
Local Aliases my editor of choice will open to my localaliases.txt.

This could be because of alias ordering, try changing the order to:
mov|movie
movie|ym

Hello all,
I just realized recently (isn't that a precise diagnostic? :) that none of
my local aliases are working. I also tried some of the examples in
localaliases.txt. Every alias gets sent through as a search term.
This started either when I moved to Vista, or (later) switched to IE7 (from

This brings a whole new world to DQSD... It's all fine and dandy to be
able to run a complex command-line with it, but being

Whoo-hoo! Got it working. Also made a couple other aliases others may
be interested in (watch for breaks in inappropriate places - might
want to change the root drive for your system)...

Hello all,
I've been working on a few aliases of my own, but am having trouble
with this "multi" thing. How does it work? What are the limitations?
Is there anything I should know as far as how it functions that will
make or break it?
What I'm trying to do is put together a line similar to this o
I have the following:

ping|run cmd.exe /k ping %s|ping
nslookup|run cmd.exe /k nslookup %s|nslookup
in addition to ones launching all the office apps, notepad and ultraedit.

I have localaliases for opening a URL in my various browsers, similar to
MLL's idea, and the, to open in all of these browsers at once:
mbrowse|multi ie moz opera netsc %s|Open URL in Multiple Browsers|Open URL
in Multiple Browsers|Computers

Cool idea John,

winword|Microsoft Word|Start Microsoft Word|Microsoft Office
Interesting. Think I'll stick with my quick launch
icon though.
Not quiet what you had in mind perhaps, but one I
use is
xeus|curr /from:usd /to:gbp %s
that

We did this once before and it was pretty successful. So I'm trying it again. I'd like to know of some cool tricks you may have to use aliases. Here are some of the entries I have in my localaliases.txt file.
