Hi All
on our test server i did setup handle from default 123456789 prefix to 1900
just for test before we request handle prefix from handle.net, the handle
prefix appear most places on our DSpace communities, collections but the
problem is the handle prefix(identifier) doesn't appear on URI
To rapidly change the look of dspace, you should first go through
these files:
- login as admin and edit the News text
- jspui/css/*.css
- jspui/layout/*.jsp
- new images to replace the banner, etc.

you will see info about that item,

Hi Hardik
Now I manage to see where it was a problem, there is a table called
metadatavalue, that is where my item reference in as a results by just changing
values in that table my URI is fixed.
Thanks

I was wondering if anyone has had success searching DSpace using SRW/U
whilst limiting their searches to specific collections?
Any help much appreciated.

If is any help, an OAI GetRecord query results in the same issue; i.e. I
can still access it even though I have restricted read access to only
administrators.

This seems more like a hack now than it did at the time I wrote it. You

I wonder if anybody has done this, and would be willing to give me a
shove in the right direction. Alternatively, if it can't be done,
please would someone put me out of my misery by telling me so.
I have a server with an existing site and I want to add a dspace site
to it. To complicate matters
I should also have mentioned that the default server does have another
IP address. I suppose that's a clue -- perhaps I should configure the
default server to listen to its own address only? But how can I get
the proxy to do likewise?

Are you running two ips off of the one server?
If you have two ips, e.g. 192.168.5.1 and 192.168.5.2, try declaring two
virtual hosts;
VirtualHost 192.168.5.1:80
/VirtualHost
VirtualHost 192.168.5.2:80
/VirtualHost
Place your proxy details in one virtual host and your default site in

It doesn't ask me for it. Upon connecting to the repository with the address

Hi all,
I'm very confused about the whole OAI crosswalk thing.
I've created a new crosswalk class but don't know what metadataPrefix to
use. It's for disseminating DC to the Australian Digital Theses project,
and some of the fields used are different to other DC disseminations we
want to have
Hi Gary,
It sounds like you have two options:
- Get the ADT people to define their own metadataPrefix. This is
what the EThOS project (http://ethos.bl.uk/) did for the UK EDT
system. They defined uketd_dc which is now shipped as standard with
DSpace. See:
Excellent, thanks a lot Stuart.
