Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN / RigBlaster Duo
Hi Kay, Don´t know how the setup has to be done for the rigblaster duo but I think It will be normally impossible when you use 2 different radio´s (brand), Every brand use there own commands and howto communicate with their radios. In dx4win and other programs both radios are separately connected and work fine with there own drivers. BUT If this unit translate all commands for different radios(yaesu-icom-K2-tentec-etc) to one command set (for example kenwood commands) it is maybe possible when you set dx4win to use the kenwood.rig Guy ON4AOI -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] Namens Kay Craigie Verzonden: zaterdag 3 januari 2009 20:31 Aan: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Onderwerp: [Dx4win] DX4WIN / RigBlaster Duo My OM is trying to configure his Elecraft K2 and Yaesu FT-450 to work with a RigBlaster Duo and DX4WIN (7.03.16). The two rigs work fine with DX4WIN if connected to the computer separately as Rig 1 and Rig 2. But with the Duo in line, DX4WIN isn't happy at all. Neither is any other logging software we have on his computer, for that matter. If anyone has successfully configured a RigBlaster Duo with DX4WIN, please contact me. BTW, we've used single-radio RigBlasters in the past without a hitch, so we're not newcomers to West Mountain Radio gear. [Dx4win] Rigblaster Pro Interface
I do not have everything set up right now, but when I did I ended up using a cable directly from a serial port to my rig, not through the RigBlaster Pro - this worked for me, but needed an extra serial port. The ports going to the RigBlaster Pro were SER A for PTT/CW and SER B for MixW, MMTTY FSK. I had to modify the internal jumpering in the RigBlaster Pro a bit to allow FSK on Serial B. The Serial B port has only three connections: Receive Data, Transmit Data and Ground. This is not enough to communicate with a radio! I do not know why they did not pass the connections through from Serial A. Re: [Dx4win] Rigblaster Pro Interface
Check programming on page 30 of the Pro manual for Yaesu programming when using the serial ports for rig control. FSK and CW... Also check by bypassing the PRO to be sure you have DX4WIN and your Yaesu set correct. 73, Art W6KY From: Charles Ristorcelli [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, December 5, 2008 11:42:39 AM Subject: [Dx4win] Rigblaster Pro Interface Hi everyone. [Dx4win] Rigblaster
John, I use the RIGblaster Plus with an Icom 756 ProIII, DX4Win 7.01, MMTY in FSK, and a WaveNode wattmeter (LPT port interface). I operate phone, CW, RTTY, and PSK modes, and it works well _AFTER_ spending a lot of time messing around with the internal jumpers. I can switch between modes instantly without any reconfiguration or switch flipping -- accomplished only by using 2 serial and two parallel ports. - first serial port for rig control - second serial port for MMTTY transmit control - first parallel LPT port for rotor control - second parallel port for CW keying and Wavenode wattmeter interface If you decide to go with a RIGblaster Plus, let me know -- I'd be happy to share the document I wrote that describes the correct settings in the RB Plus. It works great when clicking on spots, and following the rig when I change bands. It sets up splits properly also. However, I notice whenever I do click on a spot, it will switch to the proper mode, but it alwasys defaults to the second filter. Is there something in the rig file that controls that? I am using the 746 rig file with an address of 66, and baud rate of 19,200. I'm using Com 1 and rts is high. Any help would be appreciated. You can use the com port on the rigblaster, but if your like me - I use the com port for rig control ( CAT fxn ) on my ft-920. Too bad dx4win will not key the ptt via Cat commands. Mix W will do this and so will mmsstv. I had been using a lpt ( printer port ) interface to key the ptt while maintaining the line between the computer and my rig. This works fine with dx4win, It can also be used to send cw via the keyboard if you set it up correctly. Jeff Baker KG4ENR
[Dx4win] Rigblaster Plus with DX4WIN for DVK
Has anyone successfully set up the Rigblaster Plus as the radio/computer interface for using the DVK functionality of DX4WIN ver 10.29 ? I have the FT1000MP MK5 and a computer with 1 serial port available. I have come close but pressing function keys to send a message does not key the radio. Sound from the microphone pulses so that isn't right either. I have seen the writeup on the Rigblaster web site but still not working. Thanks Dave VE7VR
