Re: [Dx4win] need help generating POTA listing worked report

2023-06-20 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
Dmitry sorry for the late response but I am a bit heavy loaded with work
the last time.

I can not see this behaviour in my dx4win 9.09.

For example I go to Reports. I select custom award and in the new window
I select the award I want. For example I select RDA (by the way typing
F2, dx4win sorts the awards in alphabetic order).

Dx4win goes and examine my log and finds the QSOs I have marked as valid
for RDA award and have put also the right award value.

If you are waiting dx4win finds out what oblast, etc is every QSO, no,
it does not make it. But if you have marked every qso you need it does it.

I use also AD1C's software to import my contest logs in dx4win and it
populates the fields with the right values from the contest log when I
run Russian dx (rda values) or working all germany (doks), etc.

Also you can search for the QSOs you want. For example I type F8 and
write RDA in Custom Award field. I get as an answer all RDA qsos in my
logbook window. I can get an excel file from here (right click- write in
a file- it writes in a csv file which I can import to excel)

Hi,

I'm running DX4WIN v9.0.9.1259 on Win10.

When I use the Report Generator to create a Listing Worked report for my

all QSOs that I have in my log marked as POTA contacts with assigned
park numbers. It looks like there is a
date cutoff being applied but I can't figure out where that date is
configured. The dates in
File->Awards->Custom are all blank which I think means no date filtering
is applied.

Re: [Dx4win] need help generating POTA listing worked report

2023-06-04 Thread k1oa

Hi Dima,

Thanks for the reply. I figured out my issue.

I had a cutoff of 365 days configured in Setup|Personal so that was
constraining what was generated
by my POTA report. Any POTA contacts that were confirmed were not
subject to that cutoff so those
were being displayed OK, just not the ones older than 365 days and
unconfirmed.

Re: [Dx4win] Need help on Upload to LoTW

2019-10-21 Thread OZ0J Joe
Dick,

In DX4WIN you have to do this (filter or not)

Set Y in the LoTW box below the Label (and left of the date field) for those
QSOs, you want to upload
Now press F8 and type Y in the LoTW box left to the date - press ENTER
Go to LoTW in the menu at the top and choose "Clear LoTW upload date"

Now you are ready to EXPORT an ADIF file to TQSL

Go to LoTW in the menu at the top and choose "Export to LoTW"

Safe the file and REMEMBER where you have put it. I put my file in the folder
"download" and give it my call sign.

Accept to "clear LoTW ..." in DX4WIN. Now your QSOs has a new LoTW upload date
and LoTW mark is N (the field left to the LoTW date)

In TQSL you choose the icon "Sign a log and upload ..." in the upper left
corner.
Find your file and choose it.
Not choose your station data (if you have more than one) and sign the file with
the call that belongs to the ADIF file.

BTW you cannot upload too many QSOs to LoTW. You only have to exclude duplets
(TQSL informs you if duplets are included) and upload the rest.

[Dx4win] need help

2019-02-18 Thread steve sala
I recently tried to make some changes and save them and I get the famous error
message. I sent an original HELP request weeks ago. I go through what it
required until it comes back that I do not have an email app associated with
it. I Googled “how to associate an email program with an app” and did it and
it still does not work. Of course, I may have screwed that up too.

I cannot make changes and save the program. I save in two places, one in the
hard drive under DX4WIN’s SAVE folder and to a thumb drive. That thumb drive
is defined in the preferences as (k:/). In fact I changed thumb drives just
in case with no positive results..

My program is 9.0.4.1176
I cannot use the program so what do I do?

Will order some 10' serial cables to clean up the current test kludge.

Now to get the sat station tracking.

Tim,

I've now got it "working". Is the rotator supposed to follow the spot
when I
double click it like the radio does? If I drop down the rotator menu

click on short, or long, path it rotates.

I've set up the preferences but the rotor drop-down is greyed out.

Re: [Dx4win] Need help with rotor control

2019-01-05 Thread Tim moore
You have to do what you did or hit F11 for shortpath. There are other
variations of a function Key for things like longpath, etc. It doesn't
rotate just because you grabbed a spot. You can also program it to know
which antennas are rotatable and which aren't. Also, you have to be in the
qso window for things like F11 to work.

Re: [Dx4win] Need help with rotor control

2019-01-05 Thread w3ab

Tim,

I've now got it "working". Is the rotator supposed to follow the spot
when I double click it like the radio does? If I drop down the rotator
menu and click on short, or long, path it rotates.

I finally got around to installing a MDS RC-1Y. I am unable to get
DX4WIN or any other program to talk to it. Tried USB, which I
dislike,
and a USB-serial dongle which I dislike almost as much. No joy.

I've set up the preferences but the rotor drop-down is greyed out.

I really like RS-232 since it is easy to troubleshoot.

Any ideas?

Do you enabled the mic+lin : on

No! Do not use Mic+Line ... set MENU:MIC SEL to LINE while in DATA
mode (AFSK A, DATA A, etc.) and adjust the mic gain until you see
four to five bars of ALC while transmitting AFSK (see your K3 Owner's
Manual).

Also see example configurations for both MMTTY stand alone and DX4Win
(with the internal MMTTY) available in Router at Help | Download
Documents or on-line at www.microHAM-USA.com/support.html. in the
microKEYER II area.

Similar documents are available for all microHAM interfaces via
microHAM Router or www.microHAM-USA.com/support.html in the section
for the specific interface.

I need some help, and don't know to whom to turn. I hope you will be able to
help me.

Here's my problem:

I have a Yaesu FT-450 radio, and I want it to communicate with DX4WIN, and
with other programs as well. At one time all was fine, but something has
changed, and I am no longer able to make the connection to my Toshiba
Satellite E205. Under DX4WIN's Preferences, it is my Second Radio.

I don't understand COM Ports, and Kay will be the first to tell you that!
Hi!

Surprisingly, when using a SignaLink USB, I AM able to do PSK31 with Mix-W.

Hmmm.

Here is what I see under DX4WIN's Preferences (Radio):Radio: Flexradio

Address: 00

Baud Rate: 9600

Notes for Radio: Flexradio

Com Port: COM 6

Poll Rate: 500

Max Tries: 6

Check: DTR High

Check: RTS High

Transverter: 0

Band: None

Second Radio:

Notes for Radio: ON4AOI

Com Port: Com 5

Poll Rate: 500

Max Tries: 6

Check: DTR High

What is happening now is that DX4WIN cannot read the radio.

I am completely stumped! Do you have ANY suggestions for me, please???

May I suppose that you have a usb to serial com? Maybe you unplugged the
usb cable and you plug it to a different usb port. This will give you a
different com port. Do a right click to computer and select management.
Again management or something similar (sorry my windows are in Greek)
and see the com ports. See what com ports your computer has. If com 5 is
not an option anymore, note what other ports you have and try these
ports in dx4win. All these in case you have a usb to serial cable

Hi Dick,

In the Help file, section Appendix B:Files, under the first paragraph
Save Directory, it discusses the automatic log backup file with the
extension .~xl (for example, mine is n7cw.~xl). Try making a copy of that
file, renaming it with the extension .dxl and loading it into DX4Win. It
might have some of your missing QSOs.

[Dx4win] Need help Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win

2012-05-07 Thread Larry Alkoff
I am having trouble setting up a Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win on a new
Windows 7 computer. I had a discussion about this with Paul KK4HD this
morning and he suggested this mailing list.

Specifically:

1. On Preferences radio, the radio port is computer com1 (settings
of 8 bits parity 2) connected to the CAT rs-232 receptacle on the Yeasu.
It frequently times out, usually when I am entering a qso.

2. On Preferences cw, cw keying is set to dtr and ptt is set to rts
on com1 (again).

Is it correct to use com1 for both the radio port and cw keying and ptt?

3. For some reason the cw keyboard types the message being sent with
the function key (example: cq cq) but there is no rf output.
This forces me to send my call every time instead of simply pressing the
F1 key to send N2LA - very cumberson.

I also have a Rigblaster Plus but seem to have problems hooking it up.

If you have any ideas on how to get this equipment working please let me
know. If you want to talk about any ideas my cell phone is
512-301-7666. Socotra is due to wind up in 9 days so time is very short.

Please help!

Re: [Dx4win] Need help Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win

2012-05-07 Thread Kostas Stamatis
Larry i have also a mark v and dx4win.
I don't know what exactly your interface is...
I suppose that it is a homemade interface.
For cat control you need to have pins 2,3 and 5 to a conputer's com (let's
say com1)
For cw and ptt you should use pin4 (dtr) for cw, pin 7 for ptt(rts) and pin
5 for gnd.
So i suppose that you can use the same com.
(by the way you can see help under cw circuit diagram).
for cat control you need to setup the port for 4800,8,2
In mark v now...
cw goes to cw, ptt goes to ptt and cat goes to cat control
if ptt doesn't work probably you have not make it ok. But you can work ok if
you activate vox.

 Please help!

printed on the page. This page contains a list of the regions
associated with the RI prefix, I believe they're all Russian

RI1ANA-RI1ANZ Antarctica

RI1O, RI1OA-RI1OZ, RI1OAA-RI1OAZNovaya Zemlya

RI0K, RI0KA-RI0KZ, RI0KAA-RI0KAZVrangelya (Wrangel) Is. (including

RI0QA-RI0QL, RI0QAA-RI0QAZ Medvezhi Is. (aka Bear Is.)
RI0QM-RI0QZ, RI0QCA-RI0QCZ Novosibirskiye Is. (New Siberian Is.)*
RI0X, RI0XA-RI0XZ, RI0XAA-RI0XAZKaraginsky Is.
RI0Z, RI0ZA-RI0ZZ, RI0ZAA-RI0ZAZKomandorskiye (Commander) Islands
RI1N, RI1NA- RI1NZ Reserved
RI0N, RI0NA- RI0NZ Reserved

All islands names have been verified using the IOTA.ini DX4WIN file
and/or Google maps. Those I haven't been able to find using either of
those two are marked with an asterisk. Curiously, (Alex) Heiberg checks
out as NA043 and Arctic Institute probably refers to a station located
in the Arctic and not an island, but that's my guess. As for the New
Siberian Islands, they seem to be broken into several groups in IOTA.

There are lots of us out here that can probably help but ya need to give us a
little more information :-)

 1) Have you received (downloaded) a version of DX4WIN?

 2) If so, have you installed it on your computer(s)?

 3) What version of DX4WIN are you attempting to use?

 4) Have you paid for the version you have and received (usually via email) a
licence key file?
For DX4WIN ver 8, it would be something like: W2DE_lic.dx4w8
Without this file, you can NOT save your log!

 5) Have you put that file in the main DX4WIN directory (NOT the save

 6) What program, if any, have you been logging with most recently?

On the web is a free adif program (editor/converter) called ADIFMASTER
- You can open your adif file with that prg and check if names, fields are
correct

Which brings up an interesting experience I just had with ADIFMASTER.
It's a really useful tool for looking at and editing ADIF files, but
I found that after I did an edit and saved the modified file the new
file would crash AD1C's ADIF2DXQ program. After about an hour of hair
pulling I looked closely at the modified file and found that it had
converted all the decimal points in the frequency field values to
European standard commas. This blew the software's mind. The fix was
easy; I just did a global search and replace in WordPad to change the
commas back to periods.

A word to the wise.

this occurs (badly-formed ADIF freq. field).

Re: [Dx4win] Need Help With BV7 Softtware

2009-04-01 Thread ON4AOI
ERIC,
Probably you mean DX4WINV7

- Did you try the conversion program from JIM AD1C ?

- On the web is a free adif program (editor/converter) called ADIFMASTER
- You can open your adif file with that prg and check if names, fields are
correct

- To compare you can export a part of your dx4winlog into adif and check
- Names, fields etc with the adif you want to import

Re: [Dx4win] Need Help With BV7 Softtware

2009-04-01 Thread Randy Farmer

[Dx4win] Need help on PSK

2005-06-04 Thread Luis E. De Jesus
Hello:

I will appreciate assistance to help me match the RX and TX to the same
Frequency while operating on PSK and using my Mark V and a nomic Rigblaster
interface with DX4WIN, Ver 6.04.
.

I could manage to handle the situation by using the lock feature of DigiPan
but I prefer to use DX4WIN to avoid the time consuming operation of
transferring logs.

A fellow ham advised me to use the AFC and NET features of DX4WIN to match
RX and TX frequencies but I have not been successful.

[Dx4win] Need help with ver 6.03 install

2004-06-14 Thread Sven Arne Astrup
Hallo Brian!

In the DX4WIN603/drivers directory you will find 2 drivers. (vichw11.sys and
vichw11.vxd)

Copy both these drivers to the Windows/System32/Driver catalog and all should
be fine!

I'm having some trouble with my DX4WIN ver 6.03. I'm using XP home with the

running for about a day and decided I was happy with ver 6.03 and would delete
the old versions off the computer. I had a copy of 5.03 and 6.02 and went
throught the supplied uninstall program. I also deleted both of the old
directories. Now when I click on the DX4WIN icon I get the following error
message:

Port Driver not found
Check appendix: Files for the correct driver

and the program does not run. Any suggestionsand no worries I'm safely
backed up.

[Dx4win] need help with version 603

2004-05-29 Thread n3drk
This is my second post pertaining to this problem. I updated from version
5.03 and when everything has been successful with the upgrade to 6.03
however my packet cluster does not work. I merged my cfg file and when I
double click on any node an error message saying Exception occured. Apro
Exception comes up. I reinstalled the program a couple of times and this
continues to happen. I emailed Paul and he relayed the problem to Steve to
email me but being Memorial Holiday Weekend I wont hear from him till next
week.

Any suggestions on what could be the culprit?

[Dx4win] need help with version 603

2004-05-29 Thread L. Sica
Others on here my have better suggestions, but I'd start by trying the
following:

1) Can you connect to any node just using Windows Telnet, outside of DX4Win?

2) Are you using the save/dx4win.tcp file from the original install? If not,
try restoring that and see if it makes a difference.

[Dx4win] Need help recoverig files - Dell laptop crash

2003-12-20 Thread Wayne Day
On Sat, 20 Dec 2003 07:42:39 -0600, Cal Kutemeier N9KO asked:
My Dell laptop CPi-A 400 died this morning. These was an audible
pop and then the nasty burnt electronics smell. It will not turn
on, even after disconnecting and giving it a few minutes to rest
 and recover.

How can I recover my DX4WIN data file? My last backup was about 3
weeks ago, so not a total waste, but I would like to recover the
 QSOs since then.

Have you considered taking the laptop to a repair shop to see about getting=
 it
fixed? Until you (a) get the laptop powered up again or (b) remove the=
 drive
and install it in another computer, your files aren't likely going anywhere!=
 (He
says, looking at a 60GB hard drive that failed over the summer... luckily, I=
 had
a backup that was only a month out-of-date, but oh, what a month it was for=
 me
this summer on 6m! I KNOW I've lost records for 20-25 new grids on 6m, and=

unless the other guy sends me cards, there's no way to recreate the QSO=
 record.
Thank goodness the logs for the DXpedition to V31 were still on the laptop=
 when
the desktop hard drive quit).

Once you get an idea of how much getting the laptop going again will cost,=
 and
decide whether you want to repair or replace the laptop, you can also look=
 at
data recovery services, or find someone that would show you how to plug in=
 the
laptop's mini-drive into your home computer system so that you can recover=
 the
data.

(I'm making the assumption that you don't have the technical ability to=
 diagnose
and fix the computer - hence your original question.)

[Dx4win] Need Help with at DXCC Submission

2003-04-08 Thread Paul van der Eijk
Bian,

There is most often a way to do these things, but not always that obvious.

Assuming you have a number of QSOs marked as Checked for Mix,
and also a number of QSOs marked as 'submit' for phone.

You only want to show the new QSOs for submit that are not a duplicate
for the previously checked QSOs.

Before doing the following, make sure the log is saved!

Start a search (F8) ,
select 'SSB for the mode
select 'Chkd' for the mixed award
select 'Subm' for the mode award
press Enter

Report | Change award flags
Select 'DXCC mode' for the award
Select 'Submitted -- Checked' for the action
Click on Change

This will mark the phone QSOs as Checked, and running a new
DXCC submission will now only show the 'new' QSOs

Unfortunately, it won't. Just get your latest DXCC record from the ARRL,
look up each QSO you submitted and change the award flags at the bottom to
Mode: Chkd (the Mixed award flag will already be marked). You may need
to hit F5 a couple of times to see the award flags.

Then your submitted data will be up to date.

[Dx4win] Need help with DXSpot/packet problem

2003-01-10 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Floyd Sense)
Running 5.03, and have been for some time. Everything has been fine until
this morning when my system suffered an outage with DX4WIN up. When I
powered the system up again, I got a warning message from DX4WIN saying:
Incompatible DXSPOT file ignored.. The result was that the spot window
wouldn't open. So, I changed the packet interface from a com port to
TCP/IP, and was able to connect to an Internet source and receive spots OK.
However, when I changed back to a com port for the spot source, DX4WIN
doesn't seem to be communicating with the TNC. Tried deleting and
reinstalling the com port in Win XP and that went OK. Still no ability to
communicate with DX4WIN through the port. Any ideas what to try next?
