I'm not speaking for Elecraft, but I've had a little experience with
contact lubricants. Like most other things in engineering, there are tradeoffs
involved. The manufacturer will tell you that they are a must, but for
properly designed contact interfaces, as in Elecraft equipment, they

I'd go for the 1.8kHz filter. The 2.1 worked well, but

The manufacturer's intended usage is, DeOxit Gold for new work and Deoxit for
older work. Deoxit has a solvent that disolves contact film. Deoxit Gold
protects w/o effecting conductivity. See the Caig website for a more detailed
explantion of their products. I have rarely used the products

I wouldn't want to use it unless there was a problem with the
contacts. I have a can of the predecessor to De-Oxit, Cramolin,
which was about the only thing that would work for an old Compaq

power connector gave me fits
I have found it quite easy to design in a USB serial port, and at low cost.
Several of my company's products use the FTDI MM232R module. It's quite
flexible and clever.
For my XP and Vista machines, it was plug-n-play, and the device comes up as a
COM port, just as expected. For other

I have a 2.8kHz and 400Hz on order. Reading your post, maybe I should

I note the shipping status page now indicates the last update as TODAY

that they are staying on track with the last forecasts.
Of note, the production run information for runs 1, 2, and 3 is back.
I guess they're still planning
Pelican says the 1510 is the maximum carry-on size (44.8 in h+w+d),
and the 1550 is only 2/3 inch over 45 h+w+d. They both have
substantially more internal volume than the 1500.
I have extended side panels on my K2's and have carried them wrapped

a trick i learned was to pack the set with the bottom facing up .
This way i can use the tilt-stand as a handle to lower the set into
the foam cutout.
Likewise the tilt-stand becomes a handle to pull the set out of the foam.

Don,
I have built several K2s, and I know for a fact that the toroids do not

Not just for the K3, but any toroid of similar
