Fortunately I was using speakers, it came out of no where, the K3 was in
the NR mode and I had changed it from 1-4 to 2-3 and back. Suddenly,
BAM! It actually was so loud that it was scary. I had the AFX mode on.

John,
That is actually up to the user to determine. It does require an
interim intelligent device.
Check out LP-Bridge or several other serial port sharing applications
that run on your PC.
The K3 is a terminal device, it does not provide control for all RS-232
based communications. Refer to

I can vouch for that statement. I do use the Caddock Thick Film 50 ohm

Hi John,
I think your missing info on the K3 "CW-to-Data" mode function.
You can use data modes completely stand-alone (i.e., without a computer).
Just turn on text decode, and send CW using the internal keyer. The CW will
be transmitted as PSK-31 or RTTY depending on which mode you selected.

Hi, Steve:
I had a similar problem with K3 #095 here on a dry winter day except

Hi,
Go back and redo the calibration! Make sure to follow the instructions
exactly and pay special attention to ensure you have test signal centered in
the passband. This is critical since the instructions call for a 100Hz
bandwidth. I had similar symptoms as you until I did this the 3rd time. 3

Few questions.
1. Does SDR-IQ have to be connected physically via serial or can it be

2. Can clicking on SDR-IQ windows change VFO A or B?
3. Is there a way to tune SDR-IQ via cursor keys?
PowerSDR has NB and NR. Is it important?
