Hello,
I'm Fausto IK4NMF, owner of K3 # 5826 and P3 # 1612.
It would be possible to have a marker on the P3 corresponding to the frequency

This would make more rapid the notch adjustment.

What is the significant of the VFO B display after I press the M-V button?
It now displays 01.TEPR with the 01 flashing while waiting for me to
press 0 - 9 or M1 - M4.
As I read the text, the shall operative words are: Amateur operators
shall ensure that their emissions do not occupy more than 2.8 kHz

the ruling for each ~2.8kHz wide SSB transmitted signal to be within the

Is it possible to transit audio recorded with the KDVR?

Our present goal is to field-test the KAT500 starting in December.
(Our engineering team is having too much fun making improvements.)
We'll announce the production ordering and shipping dates as soon as

I just purchased a slightly used unit and own a quadra vl1000 amplifier. I had
one question about the challenges of connection between it and the K3. I have
the K9ZTV instructions and was curious if the quadra works well with the K3
after doing this procedure. Has anyone who owns a quadra and a
Well after a day and a half I finally got it to work! There was a comedy of

I hooked everything up, established a skype connection to the computer that
had the signalink attached and tryed it after going over a multitude of
sound settings. As it turns out, with Skype it is easy.
So
The Owner's manual description of ERR TXF says that it means invalid crystal
filter bandwidth,
The crystal filter selected for TX (with CONFIG:FLTX) is either too narrow
or too wide. You must specify a filter that is 2.7 or 2.8 kHz wide for
CW/DATA/SSB, 6 kHz for AM, and 13.0 kHz for FM).
Found it in the KDVR (separate) docs, not in the K3 manual:
Press the XMIT button before holding AF PLAY, or the PTT button on your mic.

Is there a way to lock the preamp and attenuator functions in the diversity

These are very good discussions. To add a minor note to Mike's warning
at the end, US Federal Government Agency rule changes issued late in the
year [sort of like now] often take some time to appear in the Fed Reg.
They take vacations around this time too. Patience here will be a

Mike,
I actually was responding to a statement made in a post saying that most
transceivers shift the TRANSMIT frequency. If there are any that do, I
believe they are in the minority.
With the K3, if 5 memories are used for 60 meters, one can set channel

Heh. Those of us above a certain (ham) age (more than my 35 years of ham

either, looking back. A VFO for transmit was less common.

Well I did the TX gain calibration. Any other ideas? It can take 10-15

They are. There's nothing in the KPA500 that can cause a delay in gain

Do you have the mic gain set so it provides 5 to 7 bars on the ALC
meter? If not, you are not driving the audio hard enough and the power
creep you are experiencing is normal for that situation - with low
audio, the K3 will power hunt to try to bring the power output up to
