Why not use a monitor with dual inputs and just switch between P3 and PC (or
has this already been suggested, duh)?

Pete,
I had a similar experience last year at Field Day. It only happened on
40 meters. It turned out to be a loose PL-259 connector on the 40 meter
bandpass filter.

I have a question about the receiver front end protection circuits in the K3 —
specifically, the ones on the RX ANT IN and AUX RF inputs.
When I went to the schematics, here's what I found:
AUX RX feeds the KRX3 Sub Receiver board, where it goes to a gas discharge tube
(SA1) shunted by 470K.
Because it needs to display N1MM logger windows, other stuff AND the P3
output, on the same screen, at the same time. The P3 probably doesn't do
it for that environment. It's just not where they were going with the
design.

You ever consider buying what you need/want? From all accounts the P3
does a fine job for what it was intended to do, but there are other
solutions that would do pretty much exactly what you describe. I don't

Tom,
Yes, it is sufficient to kill the power to the base K2 (when the KPA100
is mounted remotely). Unlike the K3, there is little to be lost (bits
mixed up) if you turn the power source off for the K2 during normal
operation.

Don,
Do not stress the leads - you can form them to fit the hole spacing
better (and you do have to do that for a few in the bandpass filter
area). If the leads are less than 1/4 inch that is normally OK - one
major reason to keep the capacitors close to the board is physical -
