When I got my K3, I was pretty adamant about doing FSK. I was persuaded to go
with AFSK, and have been totally satisfied. There is no difference on the
receive end, and the setup is simpler, only two audio cables needed. None of
the offset tuning of the old days either.

I've got the K3, KPA500, and have just installed a factory-built KAT500. Some
glitches/questions about tuning the KAT500. I have found that, using the utility
program, I can manually tune to a much lower indicated SWR than the unit can in AUTO.
Anyone else found this to be so? More importantly,
ON/OFF instructions are silk screened on the KAT500 front panel, just
underneath the MODE silkscreen underneath the MODE button. To turn the unit

I assume you are using a K3 and it is locked in MCU Load state. A hard
reset in not normally required in that instance. Look in the K3 manual
(or the K3 Utility Help file) for the instructions on how to force a
