I just found the message at the bottom from Bob N3MNT in the online
archive. I don't know why it wasn't emailed to me. Here's my response:
Hi Bob,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The first prototype, though fully functional, is a proof of concept, and
far from the final product. I'm making changes

Seems like I had a power connector issue with mine once. Using a
different power cable took care of it.
One of the sensor lights should be lit. If no sensors are connected the

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it very much. I guess I didn't
make it clear enough in the long description. The SPX3 already has
support for exactly what you're requesting. Just like the Elecraft SP3
and other similar desktop radio speakers, it splits the right channel
and sends
Hi Robert,
I'm thinking you could greatly expand your potential market by having two
speakers and supporting stereo audio. That way people could use the KX3 dual
watch feature without having to plug in headphones. It might also be
attractive for K3 users (like me) suffering from a space

Hi John,
Thanks for your feedback. It appears I didn't point out that the speaker
can be powered externally, with or without an internal battery. I'm also
going to change the power requirement to the standard ham shack
12V/13.8V. Actually, it will accept the same voltage range as the KX3

I use this 12 V audio amp. It would be easy to put it inside a speaker. It
seems to vary in price a bit. Today it is $8.50, on the low side.

Hi Robert,
Your proposed speaker looks interesting. Thank you for offering it.
My need is a little different. I want to use a KX2 for portable emergency
communication, powering it directly from a 12V lithium iron phosphate (LFP)
battery. For this application I would like to power an external

Since there is no RTS or DTR line into the KX2 you can't send CW or PTT that

Linux 32 bit applications *WILL* run on 64bit operating systems. I do

most Linux distributions this needs to be installed manually. On Windows

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra,
This probably started with the Mac OS thing. My understanding is that
post High Sierra it will be just 64 bit and they will start dropping
support for 32 bit so very possible that on a Mac lots of (some?) 32 bit
apps may not work.
When are we going to see 128 bit OS's :)
