I want to hook my K3's up to the latest skimmer software along with
computer control of the rig, etc. and of course via the LP-Pan when it
is available (soon).
My query is about the computer processor and associated elements.
Currently, I am reading that the way to go for skimmer (192kc

get out the door. It has recently been stated by the boyz that,

Interesting reading. Here's my decades-old trick that always works well.
I used a small piece of electrical or masking tape. I place the
screw/other hardware into the tip of the screwdriver and do a wrap of
tape so that the edge of the tape just grabs onto the head/washer.
The rest wraps around
1. Does the tuner sense when there is a mismatch and automatically kick in?
2. Can one establish more than one tuned position per band (say
1810, 1830, 1860, 1900) which is somehow memorized and when you get
close to that QRG, the tuner automatically adjusts?

Okay...I'm here at work...since 1:30am today and I am out of
steam...but I have another meeting in 30 minutes or so. So I drifted
into Elecraft land as a diversion.
It seems that the highest SN who has gone public is #75 (but with lots
of other unaccounted for). And we know that production run
Top banders use RG6 all the time and run full bore (and then some)
through it. At 1 Mhz, it is rated at 4kw.
If you're only interested in 100 watts output (you didn't say what
frequency you operate), you're good to go with RG6 up to 1GHz.
The white stuff is so cheap, you can replace it every 5

Lack of spots has never stopped DX contesting. Tune in this weekend

and contester-light, I'd say go for the K2/100. This recommendation
takes into account that you want 100 watts. But if you're happy with
the K3/10 power
OMG, please do NOT implement this autotracking feature. It's bad
enough that one signal will drift across the band, now you want the K3
to intelligently drift also?
ARGH!
This is one idea that makes ZERO sense.

Bravo Elecraft! It took Ten-Tec nearly a year
to get that same message on the original Orion. :-(

The posted assembly manual suggests the use of an RF 50-ohm dummy
load with low VSWR across the range of 160 meters through 6 meters.
Later, under the TRANSMITTER section, Connect a dummy load capable of
dissipating 5 watts to the ANT1 output.
