Actually it's more than an inventoryit allows you to separate items
into containers for easy finding. But even more important is that you
are able to identify all the various pieces, as it's very easy to
confuse one choke for another, or one capacitor for another. It's not

I've got a Rev A K2 (#529) that a friend brought to me to upgrade to all the

Here's the problem now. The radio works great exce
Bill W9LR just bought a used K2 he's lurking here someplace. It's S# 529
and he brought it over here today. I spent about an hour realigning it and
finding the low audio problem, turned out to be some bad solder joints and
one component that was never soldered. Remember the Mantra, check the

the KDSP2I love it...I'll put this rig up against anything else...when
using the Crystal filters and KDSP2 all I hear is the CW station...I have no

Looking for a KAF2 for a friend (W9LR) who just picked up a K2 S# 529. I've
got some fixing to do to it for him and do the upgrades from A to B and the

email.

Just a little over a year ago I took a trip to England and Ireland for 3
weeks. Had the K2 in my checked luggage, and 2 HT's and a Digital SLR in my
carry-on's. No questions or problems with the radios, however they had to
tear my carry-on apart to look at the camera. It appears that the lenses
The first thing I would check is take the control board out and check all
the solder connections, it could be you missed one (or whoever built it) and
when you push on it you are making contact.
If that isn't the problem as long as you have it apart test the output
with a VOM.

I'm sure it's the standard as I would think EF Johnson Radios got it right
and most of their LMR radios use the connector and it's wired identical. I
know because I wanted an extra harness for each of my cars for the K2 and
just took 2 power cable kits from Johnson off the shelf and let her rip...
The 100 amp has a new power connector...if you use the original you are only
using the QRP portion and shouldn't have more than a milliamp or two of
extra drain. Personally you can just remove the amp (the new lid) and put
your old top on and you're back to a QRP K2.\

We had a meeting of the CheeseHead QRP group last Monday. We had a plethora
of radios setup on a bench with daisy chained antenna switches to antenna
farm. There were rockmites, SGC's, Yaesu's and of course all 3 Elecrafts.
The guys were blown away by the K2, the K1 they had already seen before a
