On my 2nd K3 that I just built there was a problem with the com/pwr/mon not
tuning smoothly.
I received a new front panel board today and just installed it and it has
fixed the problem. Thanks for speedy shipping of the part! I took a chance
and repaired the radio right before the ARRL DX SSB
I have the 1.8 filter and I will have to look for that sweet spot. I found
I was loosing too much of intelligibility when I switched in the 1.8 filter.
This was most noticeable on weaker stations. I have the 2.8 and ran the dsp
down to about 2.3 which worked pretty well for me. The DSP filter be
2.99 was sent out to a fairly good size group to test over the weekend.
I think you will see a release to the public very soon. Very few issues
have been brought up.

frequency by itself. You have to watch that you do not click in either the
available window or the band map or you will change frequency.

The key is a decent computer. There are many people using very old
computers with minimal ram and cpu speed and they wonder why they have

N1MM users have had similar issues. I don't know if AB7R's fix works but
many have just gone to a Winkey keyer as a solution. I have one built into
my SO2R MK2R+ Microham devices so I have never seen this issue.

last week. The KIO board does not have any jumpers across the chokes. Has

The B vfo is not locked. You can still move it.
Having the 2nd receiver in the K3 makes it easier.
Believe it or not many users do not have the 2nd receiver.
I rarely ever use it for CW. Since the splits are normally just a few KC's.
I use XIT and RIT since I can't split A and B in my headphone
And for us Yaesu users it is a real pain in the but. I am surprised that
the K3 would not be able to do dual in band receive or dual watch as some
would call it.

think it has a number of different sizes. The kit also has a coax cutter

You would have to switch back and forth manually, a dangerous solution. If
you wish to use a receiving antenna you can purchase the transverter kit
which supports a receive antenna.
You could also build a box with a relay that switches to the Xmit antenna on
ptt ground, much like the transverter
I have an Alpha 99. I connect through a Microham MK2R+ but the radio and
will work great together. No special cables.
Don't bother with the alc. The keying line will key the amp FB.

I picked up an Averatec laptop at Wal-Mart a number of years ago. It is
small, lightweight pretty quick. I have never tried it for logging. Used
it for GPS navigation in my truck. The keyboard is smaller than I like but
it is very usable.

contact or pileup to change something.
