I cannot let this opportunity pass without adding my thanks to Don for all
his good work and assstance over many years with all my Elecraft equipment.
Don represents the best in Amateur Radio, and Elecraft is fortunate to have
such a knowledgeable and generous supporter here on the East Coast. I
Hi All,
The recent outpouring of appreciation for Don's help and mentoring is
certainly well deserved. I too have been in awe of the time and effort Don
puts forth to help others. It's Herculean! I can't actually put my

I would like to add to all the thank you's for Don W3FPR. K2 #7412 is
working on all bands (including 160) and I am looking forward to putting
the SSB board in when it gets here. I had some problems with the 4mhz
alignment while building ( parts issues ) and also a replacement chip
issue ( It
I have just recently come from burying my brother at Arlington National

Robert,
My condolences for you and your family at the loss of your brother.

I'd like to not just to thank Don, but to praise him for his help on my KX1
and to both thank and praise him for his helpful comments on the elecraft
reflectors. When I see Don's name as the author of a post, it becomes a
must-read comment. Why? You always learn something when Don speaks.

I have been looking for an opportunity to sing Don's praises, so I can't let
this thread go without saying something. I have never had the benefit of any
service work or personal advice from Don - unfortunately, my K2 kit went
together without any problems and has worked flawlessly ever since
I agree on must read I read very few of the posts - however, I do
read all of his - often making notes for use at a later time.
He is the Professor of K3.

I have, likewise, been looking for the same opportunity. I would venture to
guess that there is no one, maybe not even the K2 designers, who know the K2 as
well as Don does. When my KPA100 would not put out power anymore, Don diagnosed
it to the capacitor which needs replacing, and I was able

Don is a gem... and we are all lucky to benefit from his experience,

I would also like to add my thanks. Don made the difference on both of my
Elecraft projects, a KX1 and a K2/10. His experience guided me through a
problem on my K2 and helped me fix it. He also did a great job aligning my
K2. I always get good audio from my signal reports.
73's and thanks
