Hi All,
I think we are getting a pretty strong message here in this thread. It has
been my observation that avid contesters are probably the most critical hams
when it comes to their radios. I know a few folks who I think are pretty
serious about contesting, and it certainly seems to me that

Turns out that AFX was set on by mistake and it destroyed the dual peak
passband function. I was unable to decode RTTY with an external TNC

Few questions.

Another good option to have on this board would be a directional coupler

Hi John,
I think your missing info on the K3 CW-to-Data mode function.
You can use data modes completely stand-alone (i.e., without a computer).
Just turn on text decode, and send CW using the internal keyer. The CW will
be transmitted as PSK-31 or RTTY depending on which mode you selected.
Dave,
I can vouch for that statement. I do use the Caddock Thick Film 50 ohm
resistors as precision dummy loads. They are flat up to 500 MHz with
good mounting using no leads. They MUST be mounted on a heat sink, and
yes, they will go open in a flash if the rated power is exceeded (don't

John,
That is actually up to the user to determine. It does require an
interim intelligent device.
Check out LP-Bridge or several other serial port sharing applications
