Aire, Yes, that spurious signal on 28.004.5 is real and generated within the KAT500. Recent KAT500 beta firmware optionally shuts off an oscillator inside the KAT500 to suppress the spur. The oscillator is automatically turned back on by a number of events, such as pressing a button or

Ed, You may see both 4.9 MHz and some other frequencies at Q22 - it all depends on the input signal and the VFO frequencies - thay can produce a number of mixing products. Do you have the problem on one band? If so, check the menu to see if RX ANT has been turned on - that is a per band

Two good packages are Hamlog and RUMlog. Both work with the iPad and KX3 if you have a piglet/pigail serial to wifi bridge. Both can be used with out rig control. RUMLog also can interchange files with the Mac version of the program via DropBox to make things easy. I like the UI better on RUMLog
