order to get a 2nd antenna input and to pay for a transverter option
to get a rx antenna input. I'm thrilled about the K3, just not
thrilled about this part of the option matrix.

Steve - I believe the answer to your question, Can the Heil GM-4 work
with the 10k hooked up from AF to 5V? is yes. The Heil Icom cables for
the GM microphones have a capacitor that isolates the 5V from the GM
microphone element.
See the description of the Icom setup on the Heil web site -
manuals (all have been documented in the
last few weeks) and one hiccup with the VFO coil, otherwise it works and
built as advertised.

I've never owned an FT-2000, but I can't help but wonder at the
relatively high number of used FT-2000 radios offered for sale
(eham.net, qth.com) - it sure seems that a significant portion of new
owners are having issues with the radio.

Looks like the TT Eagle has some real tough competition in the TS-590.
Personally, I think TT's goal with the Eagle is to field test the bones of
their new hf architecture that we will see down the road in a full-featured
dual rx Orion III or whatever they will call it.

My interest in the audio mixing enhancement is limited to non-diversity use
of the subrx, i.e. with main rx on vfoA and subrx on vfoB tuned to a
different station.
The K3 already provides all the control I need for diversity reception.

Knut, does that Spectrum Lab software allow you to do time averaging for the
plots? If you can average over 500+ samples, it will smooth out the plot
and make it more useful and readable.

or Digi-Key part number, or the correct SMD package size?
