I did the Synthesizer on my K3 a couple of weeks ago. After putting in the
synthesizers, I also upgraded to Firmware 5.33, which was the latest at the
time (I see that 5.35 was released the day after I did the upgrade). The
SYNTH OK messages were seen on the menu, and the configuration was

I forgot to mention- the DSP error messages- you had to disassemble the
front panel assembly to install the DVK. You may not have that stack
properly re-assembled
Hello all,
Ran into some issues with the K3 after adding some new boards. Here is the
sequence of screens on the radio as I move to get it going again.
Few more experiences - And added some more notes in the first email below.
On SSB, it transmits okay, no ERR on screen. When I just send a

As Wiki is open, I suggest that David you make a start by putting
your data into the appropriate section. I will then put on what I
know (or have surmised). If others contribute, it should grow.
Of course postings should be limited to those who already have a
K3, assembled and used in anger.
RE: Issues and Enhancements document
I agree that it is time to make this available.
It seems that Elecraft has really ramped up the production (at least
for now) of the K3s. There are ostensibly over 300 in the hands of
users. Customer expectations are shifting.
I too would like to see a

It Elecraft send me their bug / issues list, I will treat it confidential
and put together an agreed (with them) page for the Wiki.
Could we not do this on an 'as seen' basis, no questions to Elecraft about
the issues, or at least not that you should expect Wayne/Eric/Lyle/Greg to
answer (sorry
Would it make you feel better if it was said that getting a list is on the
list? Cause I'm willing to be that's all you'll get.

If Elecraft really wanted to have such information posted, they could do it

It does not seem right to ship radios without most of the features
they were supposed to have, no other manufacturer could get away with that,
or do I have it all wrong and the things listed above work great on all the
new K3's?
Yep, you have it all wrong. Elecraft can ship K3s with a promise
My only concern w/ the K3 is I may be updating more than operating...

John,
Even though you may have meant a 'tongue in cheek' response, let me
provide a serious answer. I believe one can skip the updating if the
new items are not of benefit to a particular operator.
I have not kept count, but it seems to me that there has been about 1
update per week, and
Brett,
The only item in your list that is hardware related is the variable
bandwidth filters, and it has been known from the start that these would
be a delayed option. FM mode is waiting on the wider FM filter to be
available.
As far as modulation modes, that is all done in DSP which is

Hello Brett,
... and I can get one real time ... I suspect you'll be waiting
quite a long while
I knew there were things about the radio waiting in the wings.
