[Elecraft] K3 Issues since Synthezer Upgrade

2015-09-28 Thread Dennis Egan
I did the Synthesizer on my K3 a couple of weeks ago. After putting in the synthesizers, I also upgraded to Firmware 5.33, which was the latest at the time (I see that 5.35 was released the day after I did the upgrade). The SYNTH OK messages were seen on the menu, and the configuration was

Hello all, Ran into some issues with the K3 after adding some new boards.  Here is the sequence of screens on the radio as I move to get it going again. Few more experiences - And added some more notes in the first email below. On SSB, it transmits okay, no ERR on screen.  When I just send a

As Wiki is open, I suggest that David you make a start by putting your data into the appropriate section. I will then put on what I know (or have surmised). If others contribute, it should grow. Of course postings should be limited to those who already have a K3, assembled and used in anger.

[Elecraft] K3: Issues and Enhancements document

RE: Issues and Enhancements document I agree that it is time to make this available. It seems that Elecraft has really ramped up the production (at least for now) of the K3s. There are ostensibly over 300 in the hands of users. Customer expectations are shifting. I too would like to see a

I have been looking at the reflector from time to time, and was shocked to read that the 100 plus K3's that have shipped do not have many options they were supposed to have, like AM mode, FM mode, AM sync detection, a working noise blanker, the high accuricy frequency readout, the variable

It does not seem right to ship radios without most of the features they were supposed to have, no other manufacturer could get away with that, or do I have it all wrong and the things listed above work great on all the new K3's? Yep, you have it all wrong. Elecraft can ship K3s with a promise

John, Even though you may have meant a 'tongue in cheek' response, let me provide a serious answer. I believe one can skip the updating if the new items are not of benefit to a particular operator. I have not kept count, but it seems to me that there has been about 1 update per week, and

Brett, The only item in your list that is hardware related is the variable bandwidth filters, and it has been known from the start that these would be a delayed option. FM mode is waiting on the wider FM filter to be available. As far as modulation modes, that is all done in DSP which is
