to install QTPYVCP when
you get it sorted, then include the script.
I'm not sure if there is an equivalent mechanism in Gentoo but in Debian,
there is a specific folder that is deployed to all user's home folders
which I used for some of this stuff.

sure to use Debian Bookworm 12 and do an APT upgrade to the latest
debian version because the Debian Live builder uses the debiian version and
kernel you are using.
The kernel should be 6.1.0-30-amd64

Sorry I missed a setting so the file had 2.9.3 in the file name. It
may also appear elsewhere.
I am rebuilding and will upload in the morning, 11:30 pm here now.

I had an idea. You could try copying your script into this file before the
apt update
https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc-live-build/blob/bookworm/config/hooks/normal/510-linuxcnc.hook.chroot
At one stage I was dealing with keys in this file so it should work

@john, you would be better off using the (debian) RPI4 image on
the downloads page as it has linuxcnc preinstalled.
Focus on building your machine, not building a bootable linux from scratch.

ll keep trying to
get 2.94 but I am out of time now.
Don't get me started about trixie wanting to upgrade my sources file to the
new format! eg..
sudo apt update
Notice: Some sources can be modernized. Run 'apt modernize-sources' to
do so.

Finally!
Upgraded to sid and installed linuxcnc-uspace from the debian repositories
and the good news is the graphics are there!
I will try the buildbot2 and linuxcnc.org debs later.

I think editing the submake file to remove the reference to this and a
couple of other components will fix your issue.
