Well, to be more clear, the difference between a DS3 interface and a T3
interface is simply that the T3 is intended to be used outside the
building. For example, Cisco Systems here in Austin has a T3 line which
connects us to the backbone provider at the telephone CO, about a mile
away.
When the local UL auditor was last on site, I gave a few comments about the
UL web site, and told them about some incorrect data. Was contacted (same
day) by a UL MIS-type that seemed very interested in my feedback. But, to

In the USA, most commercial aircraft systems are required to meet

emissions and susceptibility are covered in this document.

RE: T3The line interface unit manufacturer (TDK) also says that T3 lines remain
in the building, so it would appear that it is considered SELV rather than TNV
therefore no power cross. Can anyone else back this up? Thanks to all for
your input!

I suggest you get onto your local Chapter of the EMC Society.

Can anyone recommend suppliers that provide good, free seminars at the
manufacturer's site (USA) or long distance by Internet or similar means on
EMC and product safety design and test issues? I am aware of Instrument

I've been asked to look at the requirements for an intercom system
intended for use in aircraft. The system is wired (i.e. no radio
link) and is self contained although it can also interface to the
flight radio so that the pilot can talk to air traffic control.
I am aware that there is an

Has anyone had any experience with safety approvals to UL 1950 of T3 interfaces

Hi all
I have been asked about approvals of electronic road signs and traffic
lights in EU. The system is mostly build of CE marked equipment, but I'm
not sure which standards to use for CE approval. Can some one help me ?
