This is a huge clue. Your OS setup thinks the printer knows
Postscript, but it doesn't.
On some old printers that was an add-on, like on a SIMM that you pay
extra for.

It seems likely to be a moderately conventional brushless motor.
The tricky part is likely to be working out what the little pins are.

yes - with rt-preempt you usually get higher jitter. Probably not good
for base thread systems. For servo only (with external interface
hardware like yours) it will work great.

Thais good news indeed. I have to agree the menu config is great
although I dont understand half of it. What I did see that was very good
is that one can compile the kernel for the exact CPU. When I tried any
config other than the full RT I had some problems. I think Peter also
reported that.
I am pretty sure I started with the wheezy linuxcnc iso.

I click on "Network Printer" and after a few seconds our network printer

The connector has 10 pins. I haven't opened up things to find out
I still cannot believe that it is possible. I have been testing 2.7+
uspace for a while now. It defiantly opens up options.
Building the latest rt-preemt using peters instructions and .config made
the latency on this laptop much much better. I am running a 2khz servo
thread for a day now.

Hi Rick,
What is the printer? I have HP printers and for them there is the hplip
package that gives official HP support for their printers. It gives
access to the scanning and printing features of the multifunction
printers, and works over the network.
For other brands, I'm not experienced.
Hello All,
Are there any tricks, or added packages that aren't stock that I need to
do to get my printer connected and functioning properly. We have a
network printer here at my shop, and I have never had a problem under
Ubuntu connecting and configuring the printer. When I try to set up the

I installed a fresh Debian distro from the debian netinstall ISO. Now I
am trying to install LCNC. I cannot seem to find a complete instruction
to do so. Can I follow the standard Ubuntu 10.04 instructions or is
there a place to read up on the right way to do it.
