Ok, The set of old libs in /usr/local/lib were causing the problem.

I converted the patches to svn patches and was able to apply the patches
and build python elementary bindings.
There are still lot of warnings, but it builds fine.

This patch seems to change behaviour of the callbacks, by returning a
different callback param.
Widget_Data makes sense, but are you sure it doesn't affect exisiting users
of this API ?
