The Warp 9 and Zilla 1k are still very respectable choices
in terms of moving a lighter vehicle such as a VW Cabrio around.
It is your money and your project of course, so you should indeed
weigh the options before starting, but if it were my own then I
would be planning to get an adaptor plate for
crowaves there that haven't been hauled away yet.

The AC vs DC debate will never end. That's probably a good thing.
Still, I often think that it's not really AC vs DC, it's series motor vs
almost everything else.

Mine car is the last one on Bruce's list (Swift). It has about 5 years and
around 35k miles on it. No issues with motor or controller in that time. I
think EVWest has about as good of prices as anyone on AC. The only ones
affordable to most mortals are the HPEVS motors/Curtis controllers. You
