Actually, I specificall avoided installing Mesa... I have an ATI Radeon 32MB
DDR video card. To get 3d opengl hardware acceleration I had to download,
build, and install the DRI-CVS code. This incorporates the required mesa
libs - and I can run gears and get 1000 FPS (I average 1086 FPS).
When i try a brand new compiled kernel i simply add it to lilo -without
removing the working kernel-. That way i can test ;)
