found where it ask you to tell it the "local delivery agent". So I put
"sendmail" in there. Then when I test fetchmail it can not find sendmail.
Turns out that I don't have access to sendmail as user, but it is in my

ditto, Low level formats are not performed on modern IDE drives. Only
the manafacturer can do this using specilized eqipment. What is now
known as a low level format is simply over writing the data on the
disk that to if you use destructive testing.

system freeze) on the new kernel to get an initrd image. Needless to say, my
system froze hard again. I then tried replacing some packages (like mkinitrd,

I've just upgraded to 8.1, and I'm having printing issues again. The
only driver I could get to work for my setup (HP DeskJet 855c slung off
the print server of my SMC Barricade 7004ABR) was the HP 600 driver

I have been having problems recently with kernel compilations and installations.
Here are the steps I take:
1. Download the vanilla kernel source from a kernel.org mirror.
2. Extract it and patch it.
3. Run through the configuration process and edit the Makefile.
4. Run 'make dep && make clean &&
I also created a script which I have it run when I get mail. It resets the
sound volumes before playing, just in case they were turned off, too low or
too high. It also won't play any sounds after 10:00 PM (until 7:00 AM) so if
I work at night it won't disturb anyone.
