As someone said before, have you upgraded mandrake_desk and menu before
starting. when installing kdebase or any other package with an extra devel
package it will say that the older kdebase-devel is dependent on it. I force
the install and then install the devel package. As for the other depend

Dunno, but I am going to reinstall 7.1 on my system since trying to get kde2 to work
seems impossible on my system too. Seemed odd yesterday though that kde.org had
rc2 version and mandrake packages were there and they are all date stamped 10/13
however the packages wont install since I installed

has some details of how he built kde2.
