[FairfieldLife] Maharishi ashram opened to the public...

2015-12-09 Thread salyavin808

I know some people who have been inside recently. Not sure who owned it at the
time but the signposts from town were all of the "Beatles ashram this way..."
variety. Maybe they've cut back the undergrowth a bit to justify the entrance
fee.

Would make a nice detour if you were in the area.

MJ would love the comments at the bottom of this article. It seems most/many
people in the world are on the same page when it comes to their opinion about
MMY. Here are some pictures of the state of the place after being left to go to

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Trump Wants to Ban Muslims from Entering the US

2015-12-09 Thread Mike Dixon mdixon.6...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Blah blah blah blah... blow it out your ass Ultrarishi. Same old Democratic
rhetoric. And all Democrats have done is spend trillions of dollars buying the
votes of low information voters with their social programs de jour, promising
them more later and never delivering. They depend on an underclass to the point
that they have to import them as immigrants to keep in power.

Trump is TeaBag 2.0.  The GOP got in this situation themselves when they
decided they are not a party of principle.  They are lobbying and business
governance entity which manipulates its message to attract whatever will get
them enough votes to get in.  Their main purpose is keeping a populace ignorant
and consuming while that same populace loses its freedom at the expense of
business needs.  In the 80's it was the Reagan fantasy that we can be great
again.  In the 90's it was the Newt vision of "we're the adults, let us be in
charge".  Under GW it was be afraid because (fill in the blank) they are coming
to get us.  The rise of the Tea Party was an usurp populice movement that was
more or less a Tupperware Party put on by the Koch Brothers and friends that
made intolerance and lack of cooperation at the expense of progress a virtue.
Now, with Trump, we got someone from the business world like Romney who isn't
afraid to hide his stupidity or his hatred.

I am so glad he is running and on the GOP side of things.  It really shows how
bankrupt the party has become in moral fiber, vision, and concern for the
country as a whole.  Divide, divide, divide.  I think the world is a little
worried because they have seen how Congress has done nothing the past 5 years.
A Trump presidency (spit!) would be more of the same on global scale.

How's that John Galt thing working out? #yiv3305554231 #yiv3305554231 --

Watching Trump is like paying your 50 cents at the carnival and going to look
at the freaks in the freak show. One is curious to see the aberrations and yet
it is a guilty pleasure. Should we look or should we not? Are we doing
something wrong by giving into our morbid curiosity to view the "specimens" in
the show? So, we go in a have a look and we realize it is pretty much what we
would expect and we share a mixture of horror and a need to keep looking.
Yeah, I saw the episode of Trump on MSNBC. Believe it or not I do watch Morning
Joe frequently. To me, it looked more like Scarborough was more interested in
arguing about asking questions than actually asking them. This is what media
folks do. They ask a question and interrupt when you try to answer and you
never get to  answer and get frustrated. Trump just seemed to turn the tables.
You can watch it on youtube. Joe says *I want to ask a question and pauses. and
just as he starts, Trump interrupts and says yeah, ask your question which
throws Scarborough and Mika  off and they go back and forth like that and Joe
freaks out. I thought it was quite humorous because I see people in the media
do that to people they try to interview all the time, O'Rielly is a master of
it and it drives me up a wall!

The media and Trump's opponents have been very timid so far in their
criticisms. That makes him look strong and brave. If they were to really go
after him with no holds barred, he'd crumble, because he's a bully. Joe
Scarborough on Fox on Tuesday tried to get him to stop talking so he and Mika
could ask questions, and when he wouldn't, Scarborough cut him off and went to
commercial. When they came back, Trump was suddenly much more cooperative about
listening to their questions. If that sort of thing happened more often, he
wouldn't look so David-like.

doesn't give a shit about political correctness and that makes people think

If you're talking about Donald Trump, no, he hasn't shot himself in the foot,
and no, it's not over for him yet. And none of the GOP candidates is a Trump
wannabe. The GOP is terrified of Trump and is trying to figure out how to get
rid of him. They know that if he wins the nomination, the party will go down
the tubes in the national election.

2015-12-09 Thread Mike Dixon mdixon.6...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Well, the answer from many of Trump's detractors is, If we'll just be nice to
them, they won't be so hostile to us. People in the media are already blaming
Americans for the hostility of the terrorists. They said we drove them to it.
Had Farook's co-workers been nicer to him, he might not have done what he did.
Again a work-place violence situation. To hell with the notion that this was
well planned out and they had been radicalized long before.
Trump may or may not be a bigot. However, he is very blunt and doesn't hold
back and that gets people excited one way or another. People either love him or
hate him. He sucks up all the oxygen in the room. Nobody is talking about
Hillary, Bernie Sanders, Bush, Rubio etc. The news media is entirely focused on
Trump. Every time he says something, they say, *that's it! He'll never get away
with that, He's done for now* and all of the sudden everybody is talking about
what he said. He gets people talking about things that he wants to talk about.
He's getting all of this publicity and doesn't have to spend a dime. The other
candidates would be spending tens of millions , if not more, to get equal time
in the press.
Trump is very smart and clever. He's playing his political foes and the media
like a fiddle. The Republican establishment hate him with a passion, yet if he
threatens to run on a third party ticket, he'll take a lot of votes with him,
both Republican and independent..

Yes Trump is a wild card alright.
BBC Radio were today comparing Trump's style to Peter Finch's rant in Network.
The problem for those who oppose Trump (most everyone) is that they have no
answer to the issue of Islamic radicalisation and the regular terrorist
atrocities that innocent, peaceful citizens are having to endure.
Instead of just dismissing Trump as a bigot (which he probably is) I'd
appreciate some positive and credible policy initiatives that will tackle the
threat we face. I'll be waiting a long time as liberals have no answers. That's
the really scary thing and not a right-wing populist speech by a presidential

BBC Radio were today comparing Trump's style to Peter Finch's rant in Network.

Trump is in the happiest place of his whole life! He has global recognition on
a scale that is quite incredible really. He *is* forcing people out of their
apathy and insisting, through his megalomania, through his articulating the
"seven deadly sins" in control within him, that they articulate their positions
and think about what they believe in and what they want to stand for.

Of course! Media teaches people what and how they are to think. It can be used
for good or bad. Don't be surprised if you see a sitcom with *lovable* Muslims
busting all the stereo types this Fall. They already make conservatives out to
be boogie men and Christians to be Psychotic .

[FairfieldLife] Re: Trump Wants to Ban Muslims from Entering the US

2015-12-09 Thread s3raph...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Have you noticed how the mainstream media (both in the UK and US) has taken to
the expression "they were radicalised" when referring to homegrown Muslim
terrorists? They make it sound like these nihilistic, death-infatuated losers
were just regular, upstanding members of their local community when they caught
some highly infectious disease so are basically just victims themselves; naive
innocents taken in by slick propaganda videos.

We're talking about Islamic State - a death cult that sexually enslaves young
women, throws gays off tall buildings, loathes western freedoms, fears the
liberation of women, pitilessly murders our fellow citizens, approves of the
killing of apostates, hates Jews, Christians and liberals, trashes our
priceless cultural heritage, and is implacably opposed to free speech.

Anyone who sympathises with IS is a cancer in our midst and should be called
to account and not mollycoddled. Stop treating them as victims and hold them to
account.

Already been done.

The summer of 2001 there were promos for a new Fox cartoon series based
on the Apu character in the Simpsons. People were looking forward to
it. Of course Apu is Indian but they canceled production after 9/11.

BTW, the mainstream media is really pushing the husband and wife gunmen
thing but when the story was first covered last week there was a tweet I
saw with a video by someone at the location checking out the drill that
was supposed to be held that day and commenting on the "three guys with
assault weapons in black" (shown in the video) who "really look
serious." I wish I had grabbed that video because I bet you can't find
it now. Also the couple's attorney said they were found handcuffed in
the van.

People laughed at it but they also got the point. Years later things
are even worse. We have a bunch of pompous rats trying to program the
public through media control.

Yes Trump is a wild card alright.

BBC Radio were today comparing Trump's style to Peter Finch's rant
inNetwork.

The problem for those who oppose Trump (most everyone) is that they
have no answer to the issue of Islamic radicalisation and the regular
terrorist atrocities that innocent, peaceful citizens are having to
endure.

Instead of just dismissing Trump as a bigot (which he probably is)
I'd appreciate some positive and credible policy initiatives that
will tackle the threat we face. I'll be waiting a long time as
liberals have no answers. That's the really scary thing and not a
right-wing populist speech by a presidential outsider.

No, they aren't bee hive, they just look like bee hives. Yes,monks stayed in

[FairfieldLife] Re: Vulnerability and Rugged Individualism

2015-12-09 Thread dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Excerpts:
"..a presentation on affluent youth as a largely unrecognized at-risk group.
Her research suggests a U shaped curve in pathologies among children, by
class. At each extreme—poor and rich—kids are showing unusually high rates of
dysfunction. On the surface, the rich kids seem to be thriving. They have cars,
nice clothes, good grades, easy access to health care, and, on paper, excellent
prospects. But many of them are not navigating adolescence successfully.
..One of the two major causes of distress, Luthar found, was the “pressure to
excel at multiple academic and extracurricular pursuits.
In one study, for example, kids were asked to choose and rank their parents’
top five values, from a list of 10. Half of the values were related to
achievement (“attend a good college,” “make a lot of money,” “excel
academically”), and the other half to well-being and personal character (“are
honest,” “are kind to others,” “are generally happy with yourself and your
life”). When the kids chose a greater number of achievement-related goals, that
usually correlated with personal troubles, Luthar said.
From their answers, Luthar constructed a profile of elite American adolescents
whose self-worth is tied to their achievements and who see themselves as
catastrophically flawed if they don’t meet the highest standards of success.
The yardstick for the children of the meritocratic elite is different, and it
can intimidate as much as it can empower.

The second major cause of distress that Luthar identified was perhaps more
surprising: Affluent kids felt remarkably isolated from their parents.

The kids in the affluent communities she studied felt their parents to be no
more available to them, either emotionally or physically, than the kids in
severe poverty did.

Now, she reports, the teenagers have no sense of agency. They still complain
bitterly about all the same things, but they feel they have no choice. Many
have also fallen prey to what Levine calls a “mass delusion” that there is but
one path to a successful life, and that it is very narrow."

The term "radicalized" is a secular term for someone who has become attached

In TM-speak this is ignorance, the failure to recognize the higher levels of

Pope Francis has addressed this phenomenon, the mindless and rigid acceptance

Read through these excerpts about the Silicon Valley Kids and substitute the
word, “meditator” for the word “affluent” as used in the article. Substitute
“Non-meditator” for “poor”, and substitute “Meditator” for “Rich”. One can come
to see some cultural parallels in striving for achievement with perfectionism
that can shake out as distressed feelings and behaviors.

Is there an abnormal behavior dysfunction clustering in meditating kids, or
meditators? Evidently there was a small cluster a couple of years ago in
suicide that had some commonalities of pressure and depression within it
similar to the Silicon Valley cluster.

The aggregate numbers do not show meditators, kids or adults, as a whole to
be outlaying from averages. Suicide happens on average throughout the
Fairfield/Jefferson County, Iowa community in sub-groups evidently across
demographic boundaries for varying and individual reasons. See the links
further below to public health stats.

However, reading The Silicon Valley Suicides article points out some similar
pressures related to perfectionism and cultural expectations of achievement
that may be similarly peculiar to aspects of the meditating community in
Jefferson County, Iowa. Would make an interesting study.

 Vulnerability Trending:
Kids of the Higher and 'elite' income classes become high ranked (vulnerable)
with behavior dysfunction (distress) as with the poorest of kids, but
differently in their own case because of their peculiar 'elite' group cultural
pressures for producing and showing individual perfectionism and achievement.
That level of materialism does not seem very 'spiritual' or healthy.

And, dear emptypants, how can I "weep, weep, weep" when you're around?

Are you real?
Better check with that hubby of yers for a systems check.

"If they invoked the same level of "blessing" for themselves and from
themselves they would experience the same intensity of grace and benediction
for themselves without needing to externalize it."

What part of this simple statement did you not understand?

If this guy Trump gets elected then he should rescind NAFTA and forbid the
Canadian Prime Minister and his ancillary leaders to enter the USA until then
Canadian Parliament revokes this. That should especially include the whole
Canadian UN delegation.

Even better, cancel the UN's permit to inhabit the United States.
Let them go to Geneva ... or wherever.

Fuck them ... they are all basically a cabal of spies.

People laughed at it but they also got the point. Years later things
are even worse. We have a bunch of pompous rats trying to program the
public through media control.

Yes Trump is a wild card alright.

BBC Radio were today comparing Trump's style to Peter Finch's rant
inNetwork.

The problem for those who oppose Trump (most everyone) is that they
have no answer to the issue of Islamic radicalisation and the regular
terrorist atrocities that innocent, peaceful citizens are having to
endure.

Instead of just dismissing Trump as a bigot (which he probably is) I'd
appreciate some positive and credible policy initiatives that will
tackle the threat we face. I'll be waiting a long time as liberals
have no answers. That's the really scary thing and not a right-wing
populist speech by a presidential outsider.
