Report of Remarkable Experience of Military Veteran Learning TM

Before attending Governor Recertification this past summer, Naomi and I were
able to give intro/prep lecture presentations at two different veterans
centers. Both were well received, and I went to Fairfield knowing we had
veterans who wanted instruction in TM when we returned…and that most of them
would need financial assistance to l

earn.

It was the personal interview with the last man, C.R., at the second lecture,
that really sparked my passion for this effort. When I saw that there was no
address filled in on his personal interview form, I diplomatically suggested he
must have overlooked this line.

He barely looked up at me when he answered that he didn’t have an address. He
had not worked in quite some time because he could not handle pressure, and he
kept having meltdowns, getting into arguments, and even violent confrontations.
And that stress had carried over into his home life, where he was constantly
arguing with his wife when he wasn’t hiding from the world, shut up in his
room. So he and his wife had separated, and he was now living in a tent…in the
Everglades.

I looked at this man and my heart just broke.

His face was a mask of sorrow and despair, and he looked utterly shut down; his
chest barely moved when he breathed. He looked as if he had lost all hope and I
wanted to give him a reason to be patient, to hang in there, until I could
secure the course tuition for him to be instructed. So when he asked me if I
thought TM could really help him, I told him I was confident it would.

Working with the David Lynch Foundation, I was able to secure scholarship money
for C.R. and another vet to learn upon our return from Fairfield. When we
called these men to tell them the good news, they were overjoyed and very
grateful. So we set the date for their course of instruction.

When C.R. arrived for his instruction he looked very worried and tense. We
talked only briefly, and he again expressed hope that this would work. I looked
at him at told him that he would now be starting a new chapter in his life, and
began his instruction.

He had a good, relaxing experience, barely wanted to open his eyes when his
time of meditation was up. I completed his initiation and gave him his going
home instructions.

The next day, as I was preparing the lecture hall for the arrival of our
students, the door opened, and in walked C.R.…and he was smiling, beaming
really. I asked him about it, and he said, “Last night I slept through the
night…for the first time in 21 years.” That immediately got my attention.

When we discussed experiences, he said he was now back in his home, and with a
big smile, that his wife had said it was different when he kissed her. When I
replied that we would have to do more research on that, he laughed, and said he
had a question: “For months, I have been seeing two psychiatrists, two social
workers, a psychologist, just completed an anger management course, an been
taking handfuls of medications. And in one day of doing TM I have gotten more
relief than all of those other things combined. Is this normal?”

I answered that dramatic results are often reported, and we’ll see how it goes
day by day.

The second day of class he mentions that he called six friends. When I ask if
that is typical for him, he tells the class that he has not called anybody for
months and months. He basically was staying out of sight in his room. But he
wanted to reconnect with people, so he made some calls. Everyone in the class
recognizes how significant this change is for this man — he is now reaching out
to re-establish relationships. Earlier that day, his wife had accompanied him
to see one of his social workers, crying tears of gratitude for the change in
her husband. (This gets the attention of the social worker, who decides she
also must learn TM.) Again, his experiences on his form are very positive. He
clearly is practicing correctly and is noticing dramatic chagnes.

The third day of class, he walks in smiling again, and proceeds to give us a
glowing report. He tells everyone, since he learned TM he has been sleeping
through the night, and he has had no nightmares. Many people have commented on
the change in him — his wife, a social worker, and his pastor. At church, he
was hugging people. He reclines comfortably in his seat: “I have my mojo, my
life back again. Every veteran with PTSD should be able to learn this. My wife
an I want to invite you over for dinner, and I want to become a teacher of this
meditation.”

I am so moved by the transformation in this man, I can barely speak. I manage
to say, “We’re all very happy for you. As teachers, this is why we teach.”

Two-and-a-half weeks later, he comes to have his meditation checked. His
experience is very good, easy, and effortless. Very gratifying also is his
understanding of the practice. He

Thanks Robin. I must say that after 44 years of regular meditation, I’ve gone
through all sorts of phases, but never disillusionment. With MMY and the TMO
maybe, but not with my experience. Still an enjoyable twice daily interlude,
with benefits still accruing.

Dear Rick,

Whatever are the long-term effects of TM, that first experience of
transcending, why it is not like anything that has ever existed--not in my
lifetime. We become attached to EXPERIENCE after this, and when the experience
becomes less beautiful and dramatic, and the benefits seem to be receding, then
we become disillusioned. [And there can even be serious negative
side-effects--especially in rounding.] But Transcendental Meditation has the
potential--more than anything else available in the world--to bring about an
instantaneous and miraculously innocent experience of GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE
OTHER THAN WHERE ONE HAS BEEN ALL OF ONE'S LIFE.

TM has this absolute value and effect: It takes one out of the physical and
mental context one is in--and just this very mechanical result: escape from the
the experience one has been embedded in as long as one can remember-this is a
glimpse of what is possible that is a presentiment of 'heaven'.

Even if it has never happened in the life of a single initiator. Heaven inside
self*.

There are all kinds of problems that set in after awhile, but the truth of the
testimony here cannot be doubted. And this experience--every one of us
initiators has had something amazing happen inside of us because of TM and
Maharishi,--although it is not the final story, it is a reality which is part
of all of us. And it *changed* us.

What is said in this letter must be incorporated into any retrospective view of
TM and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

You are to be commended, Rick, for making this truth known to us once again.

Robin

*I have known personally the simulated truth of this

Bill,

You do know that Obama would still be an American citizen wherever he was
born because his mother was and American citizen. It doesn't matter where he
was born. No one has ever doubted HER American citizenship. Think about it.
An American tourist drops a baby in Paris during vacation. What nationality
is the baby?

So this whole where Obama was born nonsense is based on a faulty premise to
begin with: that it would matter where an American citizen has her baby.

Yes, but isn't there a provision in the Constitution or somewhere that a
President has to be born in the US or one of its territories, not just born
of an American parent? McCain was born in Panama, but that was a territory
at the time, so he qualified.

Wikipedia: Status as a natural-born citizen of the United States is one of
the eligibility requirements established in the United States Constitution
for election to the office of President or Vice President. This requirement
was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence.

The Constitution does not define the phrase natural-born citizen, and
various opinions have been offered over time regarding its precise meaning.
A 2011 Congressional Research Service report stated

The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term
"natural born" citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S.
citizenship "by birth" or "at birth", either by being born "in" the United
States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by
being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other
situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at birth". Such
term, however, would not include a person who was not a U.S. citizen by
birth or at birth, and who was thus born an "alien" required to go through
the legal process of "naturalization" to become a U.S. citizen.[1]

So then I don't understand the controversy, as Obama's mother was
undisputedly an American citizen throughout her life. Seems like it's just a
thing that idiots use to keep themselves worked into a racist, xenophobic
frenzy.

I received a letter from Fairfield Waterworks informing me that I had a
smart meter in my home. This was news to me. I knew a new meter had been
installed but I thought that was at least 12 years ago. They say they
started installing them in 2002, but I suspect it was before that. Anyway,
they are now removing these meters free of charge for anyone who requests
it. But I have suffered no ill effects from this meter. Nothing at all, even
though it is in the basement in a location almost directly below my bedroom.
So I may just leave it here. I'd be interested in any other local
perspectives on this matter, which has caused such a furor in Fairfield.

Everything has an effect. Just a matter of degree. Half the world may end up
with brain tumors 20 years from now, due to cell phones. The influence
contributing to that wouldn't necessarily be noticeable.

they don't have a Maharishi Sthapatya veda home and office, they will have
problems, trusting the listeners will always obey the "Pay no attention to the
man behind the curtain" mantra - meaning they will simply believe what they are
told in the moment and not practice critical thinking to see if what they are
being told matches what they have been told.

In this case, we WERE told TM makes you stronger and healthier, more able to be
effective in the world, now TMO wants everyone to believe they will have ill
health, poverty and on going problems if they don't live and work in a
Maharishi Sthapatya veda home/office.

They say it point blank.

I don't have to have been in the Dome to have good sense and practice common
sense thinking. Evidently you have not been paying attention yourself as you
have not picked up on the fact that I spent 2 years in the Maharishi Patanjali
Golden Dome of Pure Knowledge when I was on staff at then MIU.

Since you require my bona fides, I was first in the Men's Dome on my flying
bloc way back a long time ago, then on the 10 day extension I took after the
Taste of Utopia course in winter of '83-'84, during the Taste of Utopia I was
one of a few men who went to the Ladies Dome after the Men's Dome was full when
Maharishi was speaking and we were TOLD to go to the Ladies DOme to watch M on
closed circuit tv - after about 20 minutes of Ladies Dome Bliss, they came and
kicked all men out so we wouldn't create any impurities there.

Then the 2 year stint on staff. I also have some friends who were stupid enough
to build a mountain cabin according to sthpatya veda (used the Movement experts
to determine the vastu and so on) outside of Asheville NC. The orientation of
the house was such that they had to build half of the house over the air on
stilts (in essence) that meant in the very cold wintertimes, the P-traps in the
plumbing always froze and there was no way to flush or use the sinks or take a
shower until they thawed.

Sthapatya veda may be nice but the way it is promoted by the Movement is
dishonest, unprincipled and done totally to create and maintain a stream of
income for King Tony - after all he does have those young-uns to take care of.

You mean more egregious than muttering magic spells?

Well, this is assuming that you've actually been
inside a vastu home or temple. It hasn't been
established that you've been within a thousand miles
of a Golden Dome of Pure Knowledge, let alone gone
to India to visit a Buddhist stupa or pagoda.

Vastu is just like like setting up a 'hearth' in your
home, probably by your wife or mate, if you have one,
otherwise, if you're single, your place may look like
a pig sty or barn yard. LoL!

The first use of vastu probably was the use of fire,
which at first was not for warmth nor for cooking food,
but as a fetish in order to impress the neighbors.

An essential part of any Vastu Living Home is a 'Zone
of Tranquility'. According to MMY, the Hindu home
should be a temple or 'peace pagoda', and it should
have a Zone of Tranquility, that is, a puja room or
a prayer room for meditation.

A Zone of Tranquility is a place where one can sit
down and meditate on your Ista Devata using your bija
mantra and a sri yantra.

Pay attention! The Zone of Tranquility should not be
confused with the 'Brahmansthana', which is where the
Ista Devata is to be sitting.

Vastu is just simple placement, quimancy, and commodity
management. Everyone on the planet practices vastu to
a certain extent!

Balraj Maharshi Story

THE MAGIC MEDICINE MAN

(And the Secrets of the Sadhu)

Just a short time ago there was a Brahmin youth whose life was
directionless. His distraught father thought his son would never amount to
anything, because he tended to give away anything he had, and pleaded for
this son to find his purpose.

Quite by chance, a touring Gandharva musician came to their village. The
sacred melodies captivated the young Brahmin, and the thought of them
lingered in his mind.

He then decided to request the musician to become his disciple, but the
Gandharvan had returned to his own home town in a distant place. Determined
to go, the headstrong youth somehow got some money from home, and boarded a
train to seek out the Gandharvan.

At a station stop, a Sadhu wearing only a loincloth boarded the train. When
the conductor demanded a ticket of the Sadhu, the Sadhu had neither ticket
nor money. Unable to pay, the Sadhu was being ousted when the Brahmin youth
intervened, and, as fate would have it, paid for the Sadhu's fare.

The train reached the stop where the youth had planned to get off. The Sadhu
also got off and told the youth to follow him as he left the train. The
young Brahmin followed the Sadhu, but the Sadhu led him in the direction
opposite the local town and habitations, in the direction of the forest.

As the hour grew late, the youth was increasingly anxious about the dangers
of the forest and the motives of the Sadhu. They entered deep forest where
they came upon a cistern. The youth was now very frightened. Finally in
desperation he challenged the Sadhu -

"You are only taking me to a place to rob me of my money. Here, take my
money, but please don't hurt me."

At this point, the Sadhu said angrily and contemptuously - "You think I want
your money! Give me your money. Give me your money now!"

The terrified Brahmin youth gave over his meager funds, both coins and paper
currency.

Then the real magic began.

The Sadhu dipped the money into the water of the cistern and raised his
hand. The money burst into flames and was consumed.

"I need not your money. Now follow me."

They walked further until the Sadhu told him it was time to rest. The youth
slept uneasily, and at one point awoke to see the Sadhu sitting upright in
the lotus position and radiating light, a sight that terrified the youth
even further.

The next morning, the youth, not having eaten in some time, began to feel
hungry. The Sadhu picked up a plant and gave it to the youth to eat. He then
named it, and told the youth of the various properties of the plant for
medicinal and nutritional purposes-how the root could be used, how the
leaves could be prepared into medicines for what illnesses, how the stems
could be eaten, etc.

In a short time, the youth too was wearing only a loincloth, wandering
across the countryside with his master. Over time, the Brahmin youth learned
the secret uses of thousands of plants, all without writing down a single
word, all knowledge being transmitted according to oral tradition.

Years passed, the Brahmin became the heir to the vast knowledge of the plant
kingdom. As he grew spiritually under the tutelage of his mentor he could
communicate with any plant.

Whenever he saw a plant he had not seen before, the plant spoke to him as if
in a dream. The uses of the plant flashed in his mind. Later, when he tested
the plant, he found that usually his intuition was correct.

Little could his father have imagined the son's destiny. His image now
graces all herbal products distributed to the world by Maharishi Ayurveda
Products - we know him as Balraj Maharishi.*

[This story was related to a friend who shared another anecdote.]

Balraj Maharishi was giving a lecture on medicinal plants to a western
audience. They were outside. Suddenly in the middle of his presentation
Maharishi Balraj paused.

He said, "I must interrupt for a moment. There is a tree behind you that
wishes to be introduced."

The audience turned to look toward at the tree. The tree then began to sway
back and forth, on this windless day, as if in greeting.

Magic is everywhere.

* The contributors of this narrative were fortunate to hear this being
translated as Balraj Maharishi told the story. This is their best
recollection. They are requesting that distribution be to a few friends in
the meditating community, and that this not be distributed to the general
public.

Subj: A Special Message for Fairfield Iowa: The Heart of Politics for America

08/03/2012

A special message to the Transcendental Meditation organization, the Fairfield
Iowa community and leaders of religious and spiritual organizations worldwide,

Over the past 10,000 years or so a patriarchal world has dominated the
consciousness of humanity.

Women have suffered greatly from this. Men have shown the world over and over
again that they cannot create world peace based on a patriarchal system.

A balance is necessary. As we move into astrological signatures to open up
portals of light to eliminate small thinking, it is vital that everyone remain
open to new ideas and implement them as soon as possible to avoid more pain and
suffering in the family of humanity.

Therefore, I am asking the Transcendental Meditation organization to
immediately train 1,000 women to chant the Vedas to represent the female side
of creation.

This will soften the hard edges of ignorance that man has created for himself.

The Transcendental Meditation organization, Catholic Church (Vatican) and the
Brahman caste of India as well as many other religious organizations have cut
off the female vibration of life.

This creates imbalance in the subtle planes of existence and stress and strain
are the result. War is still breaking out here and there like in Syria.

The Fairfield community has let the ball drop at the mercy of the TMO. It is
time to act instead of claiming everything is perfect the way it is.

Therefore, I am asking that someone create a petition in Fairfield and get as
many signatures as possible to have 1,000 women chanting the Vedas as soon as
possible to create balance in the collective consciousness of the world.

Someone: Start a petition that can be handed over to the leaders of the TMO. If
they don't want to do this than someone there with some money can find a way to
start the training.

And, the women do not have to be just from India.

Even if Mitt Romney does not pick a female VP and Hillary Clinton is still not
by Barack’s side in this next election, the higher intelligence's of the
universe will find a way to help bring in a softer energy.

It is going to be a lot easier if she is invited to the dance. If she is not
then hell could break loose over the next several months as the adjustments are
being made from elsewhere than planet earth.

The upcoming dates of August 26th as well as September 18th (Uranus square
Pluto) shows a lot of stress will be released.Mark these dates on your
calendars. From August 17th through October 1st just about anything is possible
to pry open the doors of ignorance.

To allow a balance of male and female energies.

I am always available to talk as my phone is on the top of my webpage.

Wishing everyone peace, joy, perfect health in your lives.

Sincerely,

Lou Valentino

If MMY 'the great pretender' only nailed a couple of broads in his lifetime
with all that money and power, he was a pretty poor Don Juan, don't cha
think? ;-)

Come on Turq, you know you and I would be nailing them all and probably have
a harem to boot!

That's a silly comment. He "nailed" quite a few, but he couldn't exactly go
hog wild and yet retain secrecy. It's amazing he was able to keep it as
secret as he did. I believe that may be why he placed such emphasis on
secrecy and confidentiality in general. Those in positions of authority knew
things on a need to know basis. Neil Paterson wouldn't tell you what brand
of toothpaste he used.

Dear Rick,

Had it not been for what you said about Maharishi and secrecy, I doubt I
would have posted anything about this matter. But something alerted in me
when I read your comment.

I think it was the toothpaste. :-)

You will see that I have added a ninth reflection, for me, the most
important one of all.

The only way anything can change here is if either Bevan or someone else can
communicate to us something about Maharishi which somehow is inclusive of
his behaviour with women--women, that is, who caused him to feel intense
physical desire.

Perhaps with Bevan (or this other person) such a portrait of Maharishi can
emerge. But that would mean writing a book--it is I believe a book that
Bevan's soul desperately would want him to write, but Bevan, he is likely to
deny to his soul this satisfaction.

Robin

Bevan was as guilty of such behavior as MMY was. I doubt any such book will
be forthcoming.

you notice that the birds in the area started to get louder in their squeals
as the interview went on? It appears to me that there was something wrong
with the content of the interview.

JR

The birds were just getting a bit turned on.

Some other yogi. MMY loved TWB, and was in Switzerland when he was murdered.

If you're the Dan Friedman who used to post here, I sure
made a big mistake. I thought the person who posted the
obscenities a few days ago had hacked into your account.

Somehow I have the feeling we won't be seeing much more
of you here. You sound like you're in the middle of a
nervous breakdown. I hope someone is looking after you.

I'm not sure what the Dan/Barry history is. Dan came in here spewing
obscenities, so we booted him. He asked to be readmitted to defend himself
against some attacks by Barry (which of course I haven't read - maybe Alex
has if they exist). I agreed as long as he promised to keep it clean. I
could easily interpret the several posts he's just made as a violation of
that request. I'll let him hang in here a bit more, but his status is
tenuous. Try to keep it substantive Dan.

Well Share, that's a good question. It's just you see, that the Turq uses
every opportunity to denounce the TMO. Over the years he has been going on
and on about this hatered and at the same time, in regard to this
Robin/Judy/Barry et. al. controversy, he tries to convey a picture of
himself as above these things, as a really, really nice guy who preffers to
walk his dogs and experience quietness (sorry SILENCE as he puts it) to all
the goings on here at FFL. That's a false picture and ofcourse you are
right; why not just ignore it ? I guess his hatered has spilled over to me
and I sometimes slip into the same sorry narrowness. It's a weakness, I
know.

Thanks for reminding me. Perhaps I need a checking.

I’ll check you. Let’s close our eyes….

I am sure this post will elicit the very best of waggish comments but I am
curious to know. I started TM at a time when I think they were beginning to
fade sort so I never really knew what they were about.

It wasn't just men. It was men and women who were "financially
self-sufficient". They paid a certain amount per month to be a 108, in
addition to all their expenses. For that, they got a fair amount of quality
time with Maharishi.

So, you need Dana Sawyer, who never even tried TM, to

Dana was a TM teacher, speaks fluent Hindi, has interviewed just about every

Ravi, I hardly ever read FFL these days. I’m just too busy with my job, my
life, and BatGap. We have a very liberal attitude here regarding the language
people use, how they speak to each other, etc. But it has been brought to my
attention that your language is a bit over the top – significantly more obscene
and offensive than others’. I don’t know, because I haven’t been reading many
posts, so if it’s not true, I apologize for the double standard. But rather
than say it’s OK because others do it, I’d say that everyone should tone it
down a bit. You seem to pride yourself on your intellectual honesty. It seems
to me that indulging in being obscene and offensive reveals intellectual
inadequacy. Might want to take a look at that.

Rick,

Bravo, you finally learnt to take a stand huh? How's the feeling like to
finally have a spine?

This is the first time I have seen you step out of intellectually aroused head
- so I am happy and excited for this new phase of yours.

You seriously think I give a damn if I post here or not? That I'm here to cater
to your sensibilities and subtleties? Your double standards?

For chrissakes you allow anonymous handles, people indulging in mindless
drive-bys and outrageous lies whereas my email, my face is accessible to anyone,

And you have no problem with people using anonymous handles to attack me?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/297222

And you had no fucking problem piling on with Barry in the past using similar
language?

Is it shameful for you now that you are Batgap host? And imagine it took Barry
to get my interview on the site dominated by intellectual masturbators?

What are the rules? What's acceptable and not acceptable? So everyone gets to
hear it from the moderator who finally has some balls to speak up.

Hey look everyone there's the moderator Rick - he's got new balls and a spine,
doesn't he look awesome..LOL..

Have you ever read Indian scriptures on Shiva?

It looks to me like crazy wisdom has shifted from spiritually realized
people behaving eccentrically to assholes acting out and justifying it as
somehow being spiritual. Which is not to say that complete assholes can't
have amazing realization. Adi Franklin Bubba Free Da John Jones Samraj could
very well have been highly realized, but as a human being, he was very
dysfunctional and acted out in ways that were highly inappropriate.

I can see why many traditions of awakening get the samskara/vasana inner
work out of the way before awakening, because once sole identity with the
I/me story is broken, it is tempting to disregard the story as unimportant
and let it act out messily. Also, for people with serious mental health
issues, nondual awakening can make matters worse.

You nailed it Alex. Couldn't have said it better.

Its really pretty easy to just disregard the whole enlightenment issue here.
If anyone, in any state of awareness goes over the line and is perceived by
the group here as annoying or insulting, what does their awareness have to
do with it? Its apples and oranges. No one is more or less responsible
because of their state of awareness. An asshole is an asshole and a nice
person is just that.

Trying to tie any behavior to someone's state of consciousness is like tying
it to their skin color, or sexual preference. Now perhaps Ravi, having set
himself up as some sort of yogic teacher or expressed that desire anyway is
more vulnerable to the claims here that if a person is enlightened,
self-realized, awakened, AND a teacher, they can't just get up in anyone's
face with the excuse that the universe made me do it.

But really it boils down to group dynamics, exclusive of someone's
perceived, expressed, or imagined state of consciousness. If someone is
being a jerk, it gets back to them, and I personally don't think the
Universe much cares how enlightened they are.

I think that a partial awakening prior to significant diminishing of ego and
working out of its quirks can intoxicate and aggrandize the ego, magnifying
its faults. One may feel exempted from personal responsibility, since from
their perspective, personhood seems to no longer be running the show. Or as
Alex put it, "it is tempting to disregard the story as unimportant and let
it act out messily. Also, for people with serious mental health issues,
nondual awakening can make matters worse."

In my case, the latter. I'm interested in the correlation between various

Well said. Especially coming from someone who has
arguably sat down (either in person or via Skype)
with more of the self-proclaimed enlightened than
anyone else on this forum, or anywhere else, for
that matter.

More? Less? Even just "making par."

A lot of the "enlightened" just don't measure up
to the hype about enlightenment IMO. Just sayin'.

What's your feeling about it all, Rick, this far
into your BATGAP project? I'm honestly curious,
and speak as a fan. I think what you're doing is
important work.

I think most of the people I've interviewed have undergone genuine
awakenings. Most (in my opinion of course), fail to realize how vast is the
scope of human spiritual evolution, and assume that their awakening is more
final and complete than it actually is. Those whom I most respect and enjoy
speaking with recognize that evolution is pretty much open-ended, and that
although an unchanging foundation has been established, and maybe even a
Oneness reminiscent of MMY's Unity Consciousness, they have no idea how
refined, full, embodied, etc., the expression of That may ultimately become.
They're just enjoying the continual unfoldment. These latter would include
Adyashanti, Gangaji, Rupert Spira, Mooji, and others. I get quite high
conversing with these people for an hour or two.

[FairfieldLife] Fairfield Quiet Zone receives Federal Approval today!!

2011-12-06 Thread Rick Archer
Fairfield received official notice today that our Quiet Zone application to
the FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) has been approved. This is a very
exciting moment in our efforts to make our fair city even more livable.

Our understanding is that based on the approval granted, the City will have
final engineering done on the project and will prepare an updated budget.
Once this is done we will know how much more money we need to raise and will
proceed to do so as quickly as possible. When have the necessary funds in
the bank, the project will be bid and built. It is our hope that all of the
above can be accomplished as early in 2012 as possible so we can sleep with
the windows open this summer.

Thanks to everyone for your support and patience. We'll provide more news
as it develops.

So, what does this mean? That the railroad will somehow be made less noisy
as it passes through? If so, how? Or that it cannot run after 10pm?

That they won't blow their ear-splitting horns. Traffic barriers will be
constructed at the crossings so that cars can't cross the tracks if a train
is coming, and won't need to be warned by horns.

Do the people you interview know that is your angle? Sounds a little jaded
to me.

I bring up the point in one way or another in every interview.

I was visiting our Raja in Hannover, Germany.

He was very nice and generous to me, even invited me

The energy really is amazingly clear and stable,

The next day, we got into an argument, if people,

I than came to this little piece of answer,
which is for you also some hint, how I ran into my

Vaj,

I haven't seen the film. But, yeah, the brainwashing at MSAE was there, but
not extra-there. It was about the same as any other parochial school with an
agenda to push besides reading, writing and arithmetic. Maharishi, Pope,
same deal. I was okay with it, because I actively engaged all my children
about philosophy -- regularly, daily. I wasn't allowing any movement creep
to abuse them for not being sycophants. We'd talk about how those "who are
not yet enlightened" can make mistakes and that we have to put up with this
until everyone evolves out of their pettiness." Like that.

It was only after decades that it became impossible to spin the fact that
all the dweebs and cretins and power-mongers and evangelists who had "holed
up in movement niches" were NOT evolving any faster and all the results of
TM for all of us were results from evolving merely due to the normal aging
processes. Period.

Try waking up to that and having four kids you've mindfully put into the
system.

Well, they all survived it, but I can't look them in the eye about it.
Shoulda shoulda shouldathat's me.

They may still own the Livingston Manor property in upstate New York, and
the Waverly, MO property near Kansas City. Also South Fallsburg, NY.

I believe S. Fallsburg was sold to the Muktananda group many years ago. Too

There was a sidhaland in Florida, and they still have a center or two in the

Well, $85 is rather inexpensive. Good for the TMO not to overcharge!!! Hope
it really works for people. I always liked the parallels between the cosmic

placebos do work - at least for a while and more often with certain types of

Well, if I were out there, I would spring for this course. Sounds at the

Yes, it certainly does, Barry, you bastard, you. You mean me, right? My
condition is going to deteriorate if you keep this up, Barry: on the one
hand saying I am pathological; on the other hand acting as if it's a all
right to make fun of a mental case like me. I don't get it, Barry; I just

Is anyone going to help me here?

For what it's worth, Robin, I love ya'. If you perceive Barry as a turkey,

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Robin Lim, an American woman who has helped thousands
of poor Indonesian women have a healthy pregnancy and birth, was named the
2011 CNN Hero of the Year on Sunday night.

Through her Yayasan Bumi Sehat health
clinics,
"Mother Robin," or "Ibu Robin" as she is called by the locals, offers free
prenatal care, birthing services and medical aid in Indonesia, where many
families cannot afford care.

"Every baby's first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every

Many women in the developing world do not have access to contraception or

In Indonesia, the average family earns the equivalent of $8 a day, according
to the International Monetary Fund. But a baby delivery costs about $70 at a
hospital, and a Caesarian section can cost as much as $700.

Lim believes Indonesia's high maternal and infant mortality rates are caused
in part by these costs, which many women cannot meet.

"The situation is bad ... babies are unattended, deliveries have become
commercialized, and mothers die from hemorrhage after childbirth because
they can't afford proper care,"
Lim told CNN earlier this year.

The CNN Hero of the Year was chosen by the public after an 11-week vote on
CNN.com. For being named Hero of the Year, Lim will receive $250,000 for her
cause. That's in addition to the $50,000 that she and the rest of the top 10
Heroes each received for making the top 10.

This is the fifth year that CNN, with the help of entertainers and other

J.R. Martinez and Chris Colfer; musical artists Ice Cube and will.i.am;
model Christy Turlington Burns; former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner; and
actresses Laura Dern, Mary-Louise Parker and Sofia Vergara. (

[FairfieldLife] Removing the Veil - The Apocalypse

2011-12-14 Thread Rick Archer
The word apocalypse is commonly understood to be a cataclysm in
which good destroys evil. But in fact apocalypse is derived from the Greek
apokaluptikos, and consists of two roots. Apo means "un". Kaluptilos is
translated as "cover" or "veil". So the original meaning of apocalypse was
to uncover or reveal. The implied meaning is to remove the veil of
ignorance that hides the perception of the truth.

The mechanics of revealing complete truth are in the Vedic
literature. The finest, subtle expression of natural law contains three
primordial values. The Vedic tradition identifies these three as aspects of
knowledge- Rishi (knower), Devata (process of knowing), and Chandas (object
of knowledge). Complete knowledge involves a thorough comprehension of all
three aspects. The reality of Rishi (knower) is covered or veiled by the
further sequential elaboration of natural law into Chandas. The Veda
recites that Chandas has the quality of hiding, that is, covering reality.
The easiest example to understand is the experience of a flower. Our
subjective experience is that when we see a flower, the flower completely
dominates our awareness. The knower value (Rishi) and process (Devata)
aren't maintained. This inability to maintain awareness of our Self or the
process of experience when we see the flower means that the flower has
effectively hidden these aspects of knowledge. As consciousness rises, the
inner quality of the Rishi (knower) gains stability. The experience of the
flower doesn't completely hide the experiencer. As higher consciousness
dawns, the quality of the flower (Chandas- object) becomes more and more
transparent. The reality of the knower (Rishi) maintains its integrity
while the process of knowing (Devata) and the object (Chandas) reveals their
true nature.

With the rise in collective consciousness the hiding quality of
life- Chandas- becomes more transparent everywhere. As Chandas becomes
transparent complete truth can be seen as the veil hiding truth is removed.
We are now in a phase transition where the hidden true nature of life is
being revealed. Complete knowledge is becoming available. It is in this
sense that we are now living in the apocalyptic times.

The Maori of New Zealand have a creation myth which relates to
this transparency. Within the creation story is a prophecy which states
that on or about 2012 "the veil will dissolve."

Maharishi discussed this phenomenon on - Vijaya Dashami (Victory
Day):

Excerpt from a telephone call to North America by His Holiness Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi 24 October 1993.

"...Yes, this is the joy of Vijay Dashami - every day year after year, all
these thirty six years, we have been celebrating Victory Day on the basis of
new unfoldments, getting victory over new fields, new fields of ignorance.
As the ultimate Reality unfolds, newer and newer levels of ignorance are
eliminated. Chandras becomes more and more transparent - that element in
nature which hides - is overpowered by the waves of victory. And year after
year, the devata element unfolds the reality of the rishi. This has been
the victory of knowledge over ignorance, in layers - sequentially unfolding
layers of knowledge. And today, it's a very great joy for me to tell you
that the ultimate layer of chandas has been made transparent. And the
ultimate Reality, devata and rishi value, are starting to blossom, are
starting to blossom tin the world's horizon.

New waves of purity have taken over our horizons of different values in the
world. And all the values are contained in the field of politics. The
history of victory is in the field of politics..."

The communication media reports to us the activities of

political leaders and the government. The media like the government mirror
the collective consciousness. We are witnessing a sharp polarization in the
world. The increasing purity in collective consciousness is reflected in
the

public exposure to the deeper, hidden truth of the influences dominating and
directing political life. We are validating the expression that nothing is
as it appears to be. We are witnessing political upheavals worldwide. Thus
far

these rapid changes are removing people who are incapable of rising with the
shift in global consciousness. This should intensify. This process of
purification is a strong indicator that there is an unprecedented change in
time.

This is the victory which can be claimed in the field of politics.

Shock as retreat of Arctic sea ice releases deadly greenhouse gas

Russian research team astonished after finding 'fountains' of methane
bubbling to surface

Steve Connor - Tuesday 13 December 2011

Dramatic and unprecedented plumes of methane - a greenhouse gas 20 times
more potent than carbon dioxide - have been seen bubbling to the surface of
the Arctic Ocean by scientists undertaking an extensive survey of the
region.

The scale and volume of the methane release has astonished the head of the
Russian research team who has been surveying the seabed of the East Siberian
Arctic Shelf off northern Russia for nearly 20 years.

In an exclusive interview with The Independent, Igor Semiletov, of the Far
Eastern branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that he has never
before witnessed the scale and force of the methane being released from
beneath the Arctic seabed.

"Earlier we found torch-like structures like this but they were only tens of
metres in diameter. This is the first time that we've found continuous,
powerful and impressive seeping structures, more than 1,000 metres in
diameter. It's amazing," Dr Semiletov said. "I was most impressed by the
sheer scale and high density of the plumes. Over a relatively small area we
found more than 100, but over a wider area there should be thousands of
them."

Scientists estimate that there are hundreds of millions of tonnes of methane
gas locked away beneath the Arctic permafrost, which extends from the
mainland into the seabed of the relatively shallow sea of the East Siberian
Arctic Shelf. One of the greatest fears is that with the disappearance of
the Arctic sea-ice in summer, and rapidly rising temperatures across the
entire region, which are already melting the Siberian permafrost, the
trapped methane could be suddenly released into the atmosphere leading to
rapid and severe climate change.

Dr Semiletov's team published a study in 2010 estimating that the methane
emissions from this region were about eight million tonnes a year, but the
latest expedition suggests this is a significant underestimate of the
phenomenon.

In late summer, the Russian research vessel Academician Lavrentiev conducted
an extensive survey of about 10,000 square miles of sea off the East
Siberian coast. Scientists deployed four highly sensitive instruments, both
seismic and acoustic, to monitor the "fountains" or plumes of methane
bubbles rising to the sea surface from beneath the seabed.

"In a very small area, less than 10,000 square miles, we have counted more
than 100 fountains, or torch-like structures, bubbling through the water
column and injected directly into the atmosphere from the seabed," Dr
Semiletov said. "We carried out checks at about 115 stationary points and
discovered methane fields of a fantastic scale - I think on a scale not seen
before. Some plumes were a kilometre or more wide and the emissions went
directly into the atmosphere - the concentration was a hundred times higher
than normal."

Dr Semiletov released his findings for the first time last week at the
American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco.

Oh my God. This is exactly what the climatologists have been talking about
as the point where there is no turning back whatsoever (ie runaway heating

it starts). We are burnt toast and very soon. This is very bad news - if I
