As a tantric I have felt obligated to point out that the Movement is mysogynistic in structure. I always found that ironic, considering the refusal to use OM in anything, and the reliance on Shakti mantras. Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Figuring out MMY......
Now, it seems that MMY and the TMO is making a lasting situation with the women in the background, very humble and silent - it is just terrible.Ingegerd-It is terrible coonsidering that the very nature of enlightenment is based in the feminine view of the absolute. It's also terrible because the mantras are Shri's body, and how can Shakti support those that hate her manifestations. I suggest that Maharishi got snubbed one time too many by women and decided that being around men was more safe. Probably because they actually had feelings and didn't just act like puppets to his masturbatory sexual fantasies. However, there is a subjective sense in which one knows as a form of feeling, usually justified by something one observes in the environment. I observer such-and-such, thus I know this-and-that. The classic response of Vedanta is contained in the story of the crow landing in the palm tree, in which the teaching offered is that when sees the coconut fall subsequent to the crow's landing, one should not assume a causal relationship. It just seems to me to be way unbalanced, vibe-wise. Earlier I described the coronation vibe as Ego and Mental, which after reading the above post I realized is another way of saying Imbalanced Masculine, or masculine w/o the feminine balance. Though lip service is paid to Mother Divine, true strong femininity is not represented much in the tmo in practice, and I agree that's a major shortcoming, esp in this day and age. I don't believe in mythological religious concepts like Kali and Sat Yuga, but recorded history has been dominated by the exercise of masculine power and has certainly been a bloody mess. Look at the last 2,000 yrs of Christian dominance in the West in which God is perceived as being a composite of 2 men and a spirit -- no female component at all!! -- endless war and destruction (along with lots of neat technology) I think any person or org. wanting to successfully dawn a new age will most certainly have to be a manifestation of integrated masculine-feminine to really make a difference. Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Figuring out MMY......
I find the whole thing so pathetic and silly, and the women look so sad and defeated, that I really didn't know what to comment. Of course it's male-based--isn't Indian culture extremely biased against women? It's really too bad, as everyone loses when subtle put-downs are used to try and elevate others. I mean, look at those guys! Do they look like they're having fun? How much effort would it have cost any of them to try and get their wives the respect they are due? For a million bucks, seems like they could have gotten a Rajette or three out of it. Yes, it's interesting that no one really seems to know the word for Queen (which I suppose to be Rani) -- has the TMO not created even one? Naw, I've been reading all the traffic here from the beginning of the whole Raja thing, and I haven't seen a word except the comments about the wives not being named in the photos. I'm not even talking about the *political* aspects; we've known about the TMO's, and MMY's, sexism for decades. I'm talking about the practical effect of the absence of the feminine vibe among the Rajas in terms of whatever effect *they're* supposed to have on world consciousness. But in the Yoga Vasistha, Queen Cudala takes over running the kingdom when King Sikhidhvaja takes to the forest for 18 years to seek enlightenment, and it is actually she who leads Sikhidhvaja to enlightenment when his mind finally becomes receptive to wisdom after years as a forest recluse. After they went back to their kingdom, Assisted by Cudala, Sikhidhvaja ruled the kingdom for a period of ten thousand years...
