How about a little enlighten leadership on the part of the
Palestinians for a change?Why not stop the indoctrination of hatred for Israel
and Jews from grade school up?Why not stop the suicide bombings? Why not stop
the naming of streets and buildings after suicide bombers and glorifying their
names? Why not renounce violence against Israel except in self defense? Why not
use foreign aid to build a country instead of fighting another? Why not openly
state as Palestinian policy that "We accept the right of Israel to exist and
live in peace *if* Israel will accept our right to exist and live in peace, side
by side."? Why not try a little enlightened leadership like this with
sincerity  and not some other ulterior motive? Why is it  that Israel
must be the one that changes?. They are the ones fighting for their very
lives and whether they cross the line or not, every thing they do is in
self defense. While everything the Palestinians do is to destroy Israel or at
least be a thorn in their side and make their lives miserable. Lets see a little
enlightened leadership on the part of the Palestinians for a change. These two
peoples remind me of two of my cousins  when they were little boys. The
younger cousin was always a little jealous of his older, smarter and better
looking brother and would pick fights with him and always get the crap beat of
himself and then come crying to everybody that his brother just hit
him.

The situation in the Middle East continues to be complicated and a
mess, and getting worse.
I understand the so called "right" of the Jewish people having that
land, as a Jew myself, and knowing the history of the Jewish people;
and the holocaust; There is no way, the Jewish people will ever allow
that to happen again;
The only trouble is, they have become like the enemy they once hated
and dreaded; whether it be the Romans, the Spanish, the Philistines,
the Nazis;
Violence begets violence;
The real problem is:
There is no real leadership in Israel, or other Middle Eastern
countries;
As far as 'Peace-makers'
Like Sadat, and Begin, and Carter;
The war machine is huge, with many players.
It will take leadership, not more weapons.
Not more walls;
Enlightened leadership is the answer; and the lack thereof is the
cause of the current choas..

Er, more like the US being the proxy of Israel. There's some VERY high-level
people talking
about this issue right now. The Israeli lobby has immense influence over the US
government. A good portion of the BUsh Administration has dual citizenship with
Israel,
and some important players have been convicted of spying on the US for Israel
without any
major repurcussions from the US.

Of course, to a certain extent, the Iranians making trouble could be a plus for
themselves.
With these international "Game of Nations" situations, its really hard to tell
who is an actor
and who is a puppet. Sometimes the puppets pull the strings of other puppets
who in turn
pull the puppeteer's strings.

Hizbollah, from what I've heard, is at least as well-armed, well-organized, and

They also gave Saddam WMD's, which Bush Jnr has now discovered some

It doesn't have to be that obvious- If you lived in a dangerous
neighborhood and I armed you 10x more heavily than your neighbors
and told you implicitly at least that you could do no wrong, that
you were always in the right to defend yourself, I'll bet you'd feel
justified in any agression that you undertook. The subsequent calls
for restraint from the US are more of just playing for the press
than a serious attempt at peace.

Lebanon should implement resolution 1559 which stipulates that
Hizbullah should be disarmed. what are they waiting for?

btw, it's not a secret that Syria and Iran are supporting terror
organizations, why Damascus is not arresting Hamas's politburo
Khaled Mashaal? Damascus is behind Lebanon's ex-Prime Minister Rafik
Hariri assassination. why?

Are you suggesting Bush is telling the Israelis to start a war
with Hezbollah over the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers or else? Usually, Israel
does what they pretty damned well please and we are lucky to get them to
restrain themselves.

It's also being suggested here and there that certain
elements in the U.S. who would like to see us make
war on Syria and Iran are more or less fabricating this
purported connection.

Oy Vey! More conspiracy theories. Also, I meant to
say earlier Revolutionary Guard units, not Republican Guard which were Saddam's
elite troops.

Yes, the more finger pointing towards Iran definitely serves Bush's
interests, if for no other reason than for him to regain face and
say to the world, 'see? I told you they were trouble...'.

Heard an analyst on Fox News suggest this quite clearly. As far as he's
concerned, Hezbollah
is not serving Lebanese OR Hexbollah's own interests with its current actions.
He thinks
someone else is pulling their strings to cause trouble between the Israelis and
the Arab
world. His speculation was that Iran is trying to send messages to people. The
defensive
