Hi Sally,
Thanks for the info. I am happy to hear a good ending with your story. I
will search for non kill shelters and post adoptable felv cats when I can.
Thanks again.

Sally, truly a bummer about your workplace, I believe the attitude out
there right now is be thankful you have a job -- never mind that you
can't make ends meet on what they pay you. Hopefully things will get
better in the coming year or so. I hope we can all at least hang on to
what we've got
Hi diane
They are very shrewd where I am employed. They made the furlough short
enough so it does not qualify for unemployment. I do believe things will
pick up again, but I am preparing for another career. I am getting ready to
take a certificate program in Medical billing and coding. Of course
Sally -- my housemate took the medical coding class, online, a few years
ago, at which point the bottom apparently dropped out of the medical
coding biz, at least around here. So she puts stickers on at
In-Sink-Erator.
Her furlough days are usually only 1 day at a time, and she can still

I am sad to say that my baby Ben has gone home to be with the Lord at 2:53
a.m. on January 14, 2009. My heart is broken and I can't imagine this
horrible pain ever subsiding. Thank you all for your help. Please add him to
the CLS. This is a ruthless unfair disease and a horrible way for our babies
I'm so sorry for your loss--it is so very hard. But Ben hasn't really left
you--you may not see him or touch him but you will always feel him in your
heart. That is the legacy they leave us...

April.I'm so sorry you lost Baby Ben. Two days after Christmas
I lost two FelV kittens who only lived to be 8 months old. It is SO
hard and seems so unfair. You did so much to help Benny, and perhaps
you now have room in your home and your heart to help another cat or
kitten in need. We all
I find it the most help for my grief when I lose a kitty to find another one
who needs me (unfortunately, that's not too hard to do). The only other
thing that helps is the passage of time.
Thank you April for taking such good care of Baby Ben.

April,
I am so sorry to hear that Benny has left you. You did your best and he
loves you for that. I feel your pain.

You cope by knowing you gave our friend love and care, things he would
not have known without you; by learning from him because he had
lessons to teach and lessons to learn; by knowing your love was
returned. The pain will dull as you let his love reach into your
heart. It is awful and
April, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Ben. Most of us have been
through this and understand how devastating it is. It makes you feel so
helpless to lose a sweet, beloved wonderful cat to this horrible disease. I
just lost my Buzz not even two months ago and it still feels awful.
I am so sorry. It is one of the most horrible things to watch the ones you
love die from this terrible disease. My heart and prays go out to you.

Regarding the doxycycline and ulcers, the vet (a fill in at my regular
vet's office) who prescribed doxycycline for my positive said that
specifically the pill form has a tendency to lodge in the cat's
esophagus and lead to severe ulcers. We instead went with a compounded
liquid version.
