I agree with you James!
All the years I've been on/in this list I've never seen anything like this. It got to the point I had to delete many emails.
This is for the FELV kitties and related kitty stuff!

Hey all,
I must reiterate that this list is for discussing FeLV,
treatments, and support for caregivers. It is NOT a
politics, hunting, personal soapbox, etc. list. We have a
well-defined mission here to discuss FeLV. All of these
other topics need to be taken to forums where such topics

Hi Edna
You must have a sensitive nose. I don’t smell it when the urine hits the
clumping pine. I truly love this cat litter and so do my fur-boys, thank

store it on the top shelf. The box is almost twice as heavy as i
I could post your plea on the Animal SOS Alert – I don’t know anyone personally

a large number of groups and individual rescuers who participate in this

Although this IS off topic in one way, as I said before, we do not live
in a bubble and when, thankfully there are no cats whose caregivers are
in dire need of FeLv advice, we should be allowed to wander off topic
for a while. Maybe we should begin our off topic discussions with the

But some of the statements about the platform itself were incorrect. So the
platform was presented unfairly in some cases and that can be very annoying
too. Maybe more so than actually bashing the candidate. Not that you or
anyone else intentionally said things about the platform which were

Hey all, I've been a lurker here for quite a while - lost a batch of yearlings
to FeLV about a year ago, and your advice has taught me quite a bit about
treatment of young cats that came up positive.
I've been lucky in that most of my kitten rescues turned out negative, but I am

I must respectfully disagree, this wasn’t about bashing anyone– to state a
platform on which a candidate is running is just that – no one was calling any
candidate horrible names!

I don't post very often but had to put my 2 cents in on this topic. I think if
more people would vote for the person they think would do the best job instead
of getting hung up on the party this country would be a heck of alot better. I
have voted for Republicans and Democrats for President.
I am glad some can use the pine litter. I couldn't stand the smell once it
interacts with poop and/or urine -
PEEEUU. I have a very sensitive nose
and just can't abide some smells. Hence the scoopable clay litter ;)

Thank you, Maureen. You said it better than I would have. (And I want to
publicly thank James the list owner for asking that this OT thread stop.)
I'm here for the critters -- even though I no longer have any FeLV+ cats. I've
been a member here since 1998. I don't want to have to leave the li
I really think this discussion has turned to a Republican bashing session. We
Republicans disagree with almost everything you guys have said but there's no
point of getting into it because no amount of discussion will change your mind.
And that's okay because that's what makes America great -
I heard that too. Plastic can do it.I also read in Joey's Green book to: wash
the area with ivory soap. Also, apply Fruit of the Earth

Thanks for the responses. Just a note, we already use a metal water bowl,
although when he was sick a few weeks back we added a ceramic bowl in our
bedroom. We have now eliminated that one and will see if that helps.

Re: acne---if you haven't done, try changing to metal food/water dishes.
Sometimes ceramic or plastic hold bacteria that get on the cat's face &
cause acne. Metal can also be cleaned more thoroughly...

Fantastic news! I'm so happy for you & Oliver. I can relate to the kitty acne.
I had a big orange & white boy who had it but it did not last too long. I took
the same steps that Lee described.
Congrats! Happy to hear some good news :)
