I don't remember offhand, it was over a year ago, but I think I may have gotten 
the link from the files at the FCRF yahoo group they have to give fluids all 
the time so some good advice and links on there.  you can google it and check 
prices, you may need a script for the fluids as they want to make sure you are 
getting the right type of fluid.  I always use lactated ringers.

Charles many of the people here do rescue & rescuers don't really have sympathy 
for breeders. We spend our lives telling peple to spay & neuter their animals. 
We watch as animals are constantly destroyed because people don't listen to us.
If this cat retests positive I'd be happy to take her into my home, have her 
spayed, & allow her to live out her life with my other spayed & neutered cats 
who do not have to pop out kittens. Their only purpose in life is to provide me 
with the joy of watching them play.

Please heed the thoughtful advice shared by others on this list and have your 
Bengals spayed and neutered before placing them in homes where they’re 
cherished. I do rescue and have two retired breeding Bengals. One took two 
years before she adjusted to life in a home. Sadly, the other is still an 
emotional wreck. He lived his early life in an outdoor cage, used only to make 
money for an uncaring owner. When she was finished using him, she sold him to 
an unsuspecting buyer as a pet. The cat would not use the litterbox, terrorized 
her other cat, attacked her husband, and was no nervous that he pulled his fur 
out and chewed himself raw. She spent a fortune trying to make him part of her 
family, but ended up keeping him in her basement for 3 lonely years before she 
contacted me. I’ve had him for more than a year and while he’s making progress, 
he has a long way to go and may never overcome his early years. It’s 
heartbreaking and unfair that his life is so unhappy because someone chose to 
use him to try to make a buck. 

Please, please consider the fact that these are sentient beings capable of 
feeling loneliness, boredom, fear, etc. They deserve homes where they’re loved 
and wanted. And before adding to the millions of unwanted animals in this 
country, please also consider that there are countless Bengals in need of 
rescue.

Charles,

I think you should follow the advice of the other posters -- get her retested, 
get her spayed and find her a home where she's wanted.  If she is truly FeLV+, 
then find her a FeLV+ friendly shelter or adopter.  It's in the best interests 
of the cat.

It would also be in the best interests of your stud to get him neutered and 
adopt him out to a home where he's wanted.  A lifetime in a cage is no life for 
a Bengal.  They need space to play as well as mental, emotional, and physical 
stimulation to be happy.  Being kept in a cage and letting him out only to 
breed is cruel -- it's torture for him.  He deserves better than that as a 
sentient being.

just happened to have a 9 month old Snow Marble Bengal. I told her I was very 
interested and wanted to see the cat.
   She didn't come by that night but did call the next day and I gave her 
directions to my house. I showed her my male who by the way is behind locked 
doors and current on all of his shots. I let her know my intentions was to 
breed the two cats. She had two cats in a carrier and showed my what I was told 
was the mother and daughter. The mother was beautiful but a little thin but had 
excellent markings. Then out came the cat I was supposed to be buying. This cat 
was eye knocking beautiful and had excellent markings as well plus beautiful 
blue eyes. I knew right there I wanted the cat. I told her I was looking to 
breed out my male and we agreed to let her breed two times with my male and I 
gave her $300.00. We spoke a bit more and I was just so happy to have just made 
a deal on such a beautiful cat.
   As we spoke I gave her the money and I asked for the shot records. She 
told me she would go by the vet's and pick up a copy and drop it off. I called 
her later and asked what kind of food she had been feeding and she told me back 
to the wild. I went by to pick up some. I got home and there were not shot 
records dropped off as she told me she would. I called and no answer. I sent 
over a text and again no answer. I sat down to fill out the paper work and then 
I was shocked. I noticed the paperwork was for a cat 2 years old. I called 
again and text and again no reply. This went on for another day and a half then 
I sent over a text message telling her the next call was going to be to the 
Sheriff's Office. This time I got a reply telling me to chill her daughter had 
got into an accident. Call me crazy but her daughter was about 4 or 5 years old 
and she was only 24 so I knew something was not right.
   I called the Vet and made an appointment for Saturday morning. I took 
her in. This cat had been staying indoors in a cage and my male is outside in 
his pen. I got back horrible news. The cat came back FeLV positive. I sent over 
a text message informing this little piece of trash of the outcome and no 
response. I waited 15 minutes and sent another message informing her I wanted 
another cat tested or my money back but preferred another cat. Again no 
response. I called the Sheriff's office and turned her in. I was knocked down 
to hear was I was told. I was not the first person to complain on her. I looked 
around and found another woman who had purchased a set of blue great danes and 
the both had Parvo and were very sick. I found another person and she had 
bought a puppy that had died after a few day. I was told to run her name on

This is for Charles Adams: 
Unfortunately, you are beginning to learn by your mistake that breeding 
animals, whether cats, dogs, birds or any other species can be more 
costly than it's worth.  You state that you don't want a pet cat and 
never did. I am assuming that the Bengal you have is just a 
potential source of money and that's what  you had in mind in the first 
place.  Your poor cat is definitely not happy without being able to 
breed.  He won't be happy ever because he will  have to be caged and bred many 
times in his life before he is of no more use in 
breeding.  Right now, if you are really ethical and want to do best by 
your male cat, you should get him neutered and sell him as a pet quality 
Bengal.  Papers or not, he's a living being with feelings just like you and I 
have.  As for the little female, she needs to be retested.  She 
also needs to be spayed.  If she still tests positive for FeLv, you need to 
find a rescue that will take her.  Or advertise for an adopter who 
wants to have her as an only cat or companion to a small dog.  You can 
charge an adoption fee.  

I noticed that your email address is Texas Gold Buyers.  I assume that 
you buy gold and re-sell it. That's a good business to be in.  Please 
stay out of the animal breeding business from now on and stick to gold, 
silver and any other inanimate objects that people will purchase.  Good

I'm sorry, cannot relate to your "problem" because I am a rescue and oppose
breeding, for obvious reasons.  I feel really bad for the poor cat that is
not wanted for anything except breeding (but that's my personal view).
However, I would suggest that you contact a breed rescue or a group that
takes in special need cats such as FeLV/FIV; they may not be in your
immediate area, but it's worth a try, even if transport has to be arranged.
Some rescues have a special area for FeLV cats, as I once did, out of
necessity, but no longer do - only FIV right now. If you contact rescue
groups in your area, they may be able to direct you to someone who may want
to care for this cat.

A member of this group rescues only FeLV+ cats, he's in Nevada, I believe.
We haven't heard from him for a while, though.  Does anyone remember - his
e-mail was something like secondchance meows, or something.

you could call a rescue. What type of test did they do? I'd test with IFA
tho the in house is accurate for FeLV, or can be. I can't relate much to the
situation you are decribing b/c I live in Nebraska where temperatures can be
extreme so an outside pen is only for nice days(I've one + other cats in
pens outside but have to run them back in when weather turns).

I'm not a breeder so wouldn't know whats usual in this cases. I'm in the
Nebraska rescuers group and can add 'Jennifer' to the DNA(do no adopt
specially but don't deal with too)

As for the Bengal girl, if it were me I'd keep her inside separate from
others and retest. But if you don't want her you should give her up to a
rescue group or a no-kill shelter.

breed him and just have had no luck finding a cat I could afford. I went into 
my local vet's office which happens to be my vet as well and asked if they knew 
anyone who possibly had a female Bengal cat that I could breed my cat with. The 
lady at the front desk told me she did and gave me the girl's first name and 
phone number. All I had was the name Jennifer. I called and to my surprise she 
just happened to have a 9 month old Snow Marble Bengal. I told her I was very 
interested and wanted to see the cat.
     She didn't come by that night but did call the next day and I gave her 
directions to my house. I showed her my male who by the way is behind locked 
doors and current on all of his shots. I let her know my intentions was to 
breed the two cats. She had two cats in a carrier and showed my what I was told 
was the mother and daughter. The mother was beautiful but a little thin but had 
excellent markings. Then out came the cat I was supposed to be buying. This cat 
was eye knocking beautiful and had excellent markings as well plus beautiful 
blue eyes. I knew right there I wanted the cat. I told her I was looking to 
breed out my male and we agreed to let her breed two times with my male and I 
gave her $300.00. We spoke a bit more and I was just so happy to have just made 
a deal on such a beautiful cat.
     As we spoke I gave her the money and I asked for the shot records. She 
told me she would go by the vet's and pick up a copy and drop it off. I called 
her later and asked what kind of food she had been feeding and she told me back 
to the wild. I went by to pick up some. I got home and there were not shot 
records dropped off as she told me she would. I called and no answer. I sent 
over a text and again no answer. I sat down to fill out the paper work and then 
I was shocked. I noticed the paperwork was for a cat 2 years old. I called 
again and text and again no reply. This went on for another day and a half then 
I sent over a text message telling her the next call was going to be to the 
Sheriff's Office. This time I got a reply telling me to chill her daughter had 
got into an accident. Call me crazy but her daughter was about 4 or 5 years old 
and she was only 24 so I knew something was not right.
     I called the Vet and made an appointment for Saturday morning. I took her 
in. This cat had been staying indoors in a cage and my male is outside in his 
pen. I got back horrible news. The cat came back FeLV positive. I sent over a 
text message informing this little piece of trash of the outcome and no 
response. I waited 15 minutes and sent another message informing her I wanted 
another cat tested or my money back but preferred another cat. Again no 
response. I called the Sheriff's office and turned her in. I was knocked down 
to hear was I was told. I was not the first person to complain on her. I looked 
around and found another woman who had purchased a set of blue great danes and 
the both had Parvo and were very sick. I found another person and she had 
bought a puppy that had died after a few day. I was told to run her name on 
rippedoff.com and I did. I called the Animal Shelter in El Campo, Texas and 
they knew of her by the game. I called the
 SPCA and they knew she had been turned in multiple times for selling sick 
animals.
     I went back to the Vet and asked for her address and they couldn't give it 
to me. I found that no one I spoke with had it. I started digging around 
getting bits and pieces of information and was getting close to where she 
lived. I then found a break. I called the Animal Cruelty department of SPCA in 
Houston and was given the name of someone who may have been to her location. I 
called her and she didn't have the address but told me about where is was. I 
had to make several trips but found this piece of craps home. I got the address 
and called back to the SPCA. I am out time, money, and my poor little boy is 
driving me crazy wanting to breed. I am in dire need of a female Bengal and 
can't sell this cat as she is sick. I don't want an inside pet cat nor have I 
ever. I am taking good care of her and continue to feed her. I feel she has 
been mistreated and is very scared. She is the most beautiful cat I have ever 
seen just not a cat for me. I don't
 know what to do at this point so maybe someone can help me sort this out. Any
