Re: [Felvtalk] Daisy
Sharyl, I'm so sorry you lost Daisy. I've had several FelV cats who lost the use of their back legs, and this seems to be a very common thing. I don't know exactly what causes their legs to stop working, but it happens. If anyone in the group knows the actual cause I'd like to know. Losing a cat, feral or pet is always terribly sad. I'm also very sad today as my 17 year old CRF cat is dying. I've had him since 1993 and I almost lost him in the spring of 2009, so he has lived longer than expected, but it is still terrible to see them go. He was totally feral when I found him, and it took me almost two years to gain his trust, but when I finally did, he turned into a big mush. He loved to be on my lap being petted and brushed, and I'll miss him terribly, but I believe they will all be waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. Lorrie, I understand what you are going through with your CRF kitty. It seems if a kitty lives long enough he develops CRF. That is a tough chronic disease to manage. I found lots of info and help at www.felineCRF.org Hugs to your sweetie. Thanks for this and your good wishes, Heather--I'll try an archive search using those words (uneven pupil size). I had never heard of spastic pupil syndrome either, until now. Your 15-year-old feral cat...what a trooper. I sure hope Daisy wins this one...she's only about 3. She has a lot of people rooting for her; let's hope it works. ~~Kerry ___ Felvtalk mailing list Felvtalk@felineleukemia.org http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org

[Felvtalk] Daisy
Last night, rather early this morning my cat Daisy jumped up on my bed and woke me up with her attack play. She does this sometimes when she wants out. Well I let her out and got back in bed. Now Spike was using the litter box and I smelled really strong urine. I moved to turn my light on to make sure she wasn't missing the box. Well Daisy had peed on me and the bed. Far as I could tell it was normal. I think maybe it is behavioral bc she hates my feral cat who I let in to eat. Last night I had separated them. I have done that in the past as well . I will keep and eye on her but she prefers to stay outside so it may be hard to monitor her bathroom habits. What do you think? Should I panic and take her to the vet or see what happens. The rest of her behavior was normal for her. Daisy is not a positive. I think the urine output was adequate, but it is hard to tell when they pee on the bed. Re: [Felvtalk] Daisy
Sally. I don't know if this is behavioral or a sign she may have a UTI. I would guess if she urinates inappropriately again a vet visit would be in order. Re: [Felvtalk] Daisy
Hi Sharyl That is how I am treating it. She is a weird cat anyway. She did this once before when she was in heat. Waiting for her spay appt. I really think she was letting me know she did not like me letting Little Black in the house. I have to feed LB in the house becuase the raccoons will eat her food before she can. She usually goes back out in an hour. Daisy has a delicate stoamch too. Will puke undigested food several times a week. It was better when I had them on IAMS, but I can hardly afford food for myself. Re: Daisy
Fat chance on that she has already managed to get outside a few times. The incision is so small I don't see how they do the surgery. It is quite amazing. She is amazing that she was neg for FeLV as she was so young when being exposed. She never caught theURI from the other cats either. Lionel was her best buddy. He had the URI and later tested pos for FeLV and FIV. I think he had FIV when adopted bc he has a wound that took months to heal. I think he caught the FeLV here. He was strictly inside form the time I got him. My other cats are in/out cats. Sally On 3/2/07, wendy [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Sally, I'm glad to hear that Daisy made it through her spay! Yea!
