Yes, I reported this to the list a while back. I am getting the same
results as you.

thanks darcy, i checked out the demo and tried to look past it's
incredibly pretentious tone. it did look good, but if specific
values for lines spacing can't be used, this could be a serious
problem for the kinds of layout issues i come across in notation
legends etc.

Hi all,
For some reason, the Split Measure Plugin sometimes won't work. It says:
The measure could not be split after the specified beat, possibly due
to the rhuthmical structure of the music.
The time signature is 4/4, I want to push the second half of the measure
to the next system. Any
Hi Jef,
Between doesn't work like Between X pt. and Y pt. -- there's only
one input box, and the between value refers to the extra space
between lines (e.g., 0.5 pt or -3 pt. But that space is still
dependent on the overall height of the font.
There is simply no way to tell Pages I'm
That would be a killer for me too. But while we're on the subject, can Pages
import eps files? I saw other formats mentioned, tiff, pdf and so forth, but
no mention of eps.

Doesn't seem to be possible, so I rewrote the chord 2 8ves+ a 6th down

I'm in Pages (not Pages 2), but I just saved a document from Finale
(2007c) from the fine menu and chose compile post script listing.
I kept the default option to save fonts or what ever that is.
The resulting file (with a ps extension) was converted into a PDF

So I guess the answer as far as Pages is concerned, is no, you can't
import eps files. Don't know if Pages 2 would react differently.
But you haven't been working with an EPS file. You must export via the
graphics tool.
Thanks Dick, but that doesn't really answer it. There's a big difference
between a .ps file and an .eps file. To make an eps you would be in the
graphics tool. Choose Export Pages, select eps as the type, select Include
PICT preview, and save the page(s). Each page would be a separate eps file.
To answer the question:
If you export an EPS file from Finale, you can import it directly
into Pages using cmd-shift-V (the shortcut for placing graphic
files), but Pages will internally convert the EPS to PDF format
before placing it in the document.
I personally have no problem with

Pages doesn't share any code with AppleWorks. It was built fresh from
the ground up. It's not very much like a standard word processor at
all. It's much more like a stripped-down, more user-friendly version
of InDesign. (For instance, they *really* try to force you to use

BTW, I find that the free Bach musicological font has good musical
