I've tried your technique a number of times.
I find it very hard to do.
First thing is that the display looks like a rapidly squirming worm,
changing shape constantly around the inner most ring.
I can get it close to appearing about in the same place but it still goes
ccw and cw slightly
Thanks Neal
What surprised me was the DSB sounded so poor compaired to USB or LSB.
Of course AM or SAM sounded much better.

When I use SDR VAC 4.07 with a Digital SSTV program such has

These breaks show up as a narrow white line

I'm using the Firebox without the beta firmware. I have the sampling
rate in the VAC 4.07 console set to 11025-48000, and the PowerSDR VAC
sampling rate set at 12000. Will I be able to run that at 48K without
upgrading the firmware? Thanks for any suggestions and help.

This almost sounds like the behaviour seen when VAC is not registered and
the mystery voice message is injected every so often. Maybe the newer
version of VAC needs to be registered again/differently? Just a thought.

I would like to query the digital mode users regarding the AGC setting.
I'm currently running PowerSDR 1.9.1 beta (original SVN), DXLabs
Commander interfaced via VComm to a test version of Multipsk using VAC
4.07. I
currently have the AGC set to MED, and I notice that when a strong PSK

Recently several postings have mentioned the database associated with
PowerSDR and also noted that it sometimes needs to be wiped clean. I am
hoping someone can answer a few questions about this for me. I looked
through the Knowledge Base and also the manual and didn't have much
luck--apologies to
OK folks. You need to try this simple configuration change before doing
anything radical.
I have updated the VAC install article on the KB to reflect what I am
going to summarize here.

I have found through extensive testing that there is a
1. What is the best way to reinitialize the database?
In the PowerSDR application folder, delete or rename the file
powersdr.mdb
2. Under what circumstances should the database be reinitialized? (for
example, should it be done every time there's a new SVN update?)
Always when a new version is

I guess that I narrow the SDR bandwidth to match the bandwidth of the
signal that I am trying to copy... Therefore only the desired signal has
change to grab the AGC.
Works great for narrow band digital signals but less well when there is
a CW carrier inside the SSB pasband.

The scenario:
New, hot, motherboards seem to be getting away from standard pci slots (I
only have 2) and one each serial and parallel ports. USB is the likely
excuse for the ports disappearing. I have stuff on the bench that MUST run
on a parallel port (altera byteblaster II).
The problem:
I
Make sure the parallel adapter puts out the full 5 volts as specified by
the IEEE spec. Low voltage parallel ports (like ones found on some
cheap parallel cards and laptops) will cause a problem bit banging the
SDR-1000. It does not use the standard printer signals.

Thanks. I'll get the scope out and check it
The port SEEMS to talk to the srd1k OK since all the controls seem to work -
sort of, but most of what I can see could well be generated in the software,

Hi
Am using two PC's eAch controlling a SDR1000. In one system I am using a
Delta M44 card
at the other a PC a Audigy 4 (As Unsupported Soundcard)
On both I have installed VAC 4.03. Connecting MixW 2.18 to the SDR1000.
All worked great till Version 1310.
I had no problem at all, but after V1312
I find that sometimes (notably after MS decides to protect me even
further from the forces of evil) that VAC gets messed up in
unpredictable ways. I just uninstall, reboot and reinstall and
everything works fine. Not sure its the solution for you but I would
try it and see.

Jim,
If you do not have a full printerport implementation
SDR will not work, The hint on 5 volts from another
OM is also verry important.
I hope the pci express has a compatible parport, as
most usb2parport adapters have not
The schematic of the parport circuit in the SDR docs is OK (IMHO)
