Yes Zaeem, and thank you!
I sometimes get the impression that Adobe Acrobat has a few “undocumented
features” going on. :)
Acrobat is VERY expensive. Everything from Adobe is very expensive, IMO. :):)
So I imagine that your work will be welcomed by many people! Will you include
PDFmarks
another, more direct solution?
Thanks!

As an FYI:
Some hyperlinks in FrameMaker documents do not seem to output with PDF
generators like Nitro PDF and a few others that I have tested so far. Most are
good in general though (of course, I am not sure why Nitro choked on your
document!).
Anyway, so far, my tests show only Adobe Acroba

Thanks for this kind response, Tino.
I did not have Acrobat/Distiller on my system, so I had to install something.
I did try using Nitro PDF Pro 8, for which I have a full license, but it choked

Or is there another, more direct solution?
Thanks!

Intriguing suggestion, Robert.
I would say that someone can write such a script. Perhaps someday, that someone
will be I. :) I wonder what it would cost to ask
someone, who knows how, to write either an API client or a script (of either
type, I suppose).
Best to all,

Thanks Rick. I will get into this tomorrow.
Guess FrameMaker is a bit behind the curve when it comes to the Internet, eh?
And . it will work, so that's just grand!
Best,
Elchanan

How are you generating your PDF? Are you printing to a PostScript file and then
distilling as per Robert Lauriston's recommended workaround for your missing
Adobe PDF printer issue?
If so, the key step he didn't mention is to make sure that the "Generate
Acrobat Data" option in the Print Book d
Greetings everyone!
I created a book containing a large number of hyperlinks, as text. (E.g.,
http://destination.com/). These are not coming through in
PDF as active links. I do need them to look like normal URLs, and also be
active links in PDF. Would someone be willing to tell me
how to do
set these links up to achieve this outcome?
Using FM 8, Win 7 x64, Acrobat XI.
Thanks very much!

Greetings everyone!
I created a book with generated documents, but I neglected to check the little
"activate hyperlinks" setting. I've no idea why the
default is not "on", but apparently it is not.
So . how can I turn the generation of hyperlinks "on", after the fact?
Thanks very much!

No. You could write a script that did all the steps with one command.

No automagical process. You need to manually apply the character tag and
insert the link using the Special > Hypertext command. In the Hypertext
dialog box, set Command to Go to URL, and in the text box below where
"message URL" appears, append the URL for the site you wish to link to.
HTH!
