I agree. That is one of the first things we make sure all of our prep team
members know when teaching them how to process FM projects.
It's no big deal when the links are all in one folder and no sub folders, but
most times our client's FM projects have links in multiple sub folders.

That's a whole different issue. If screen shots, they'd need to be
retaken in an already localized UI. If illustrations, you'd be working
with unflattened files and not what you're consuming in FM (unless
you're using unflattened vector graphi
That's an odd approach. You should be getting whatever you send them
back, so issues like this don't arise. I work for an LSP (not in a
translation capacity though), and we always recommend full project
round-tripping. FM, like many other tools, has many moving parts under
the skin, even in the .fm

Didn't the translation vendor localize the graphics?
It seems to me that for each translation language, you should be getting back a
mirror image of your source-
Ok, so here's a thought--can you make a copy of your whole original set of
files and graphic folders (untranslated), then delete the fm files in
there, and copy and paste in the translated fm files? Would they then be
looking for the graphics in the right place?

They got the whole file structure to begin with. What I need to get back are
only the translated fm files.

Definitely have a talk with your translation vendor if it's caused
this much rework.

Ah, I neglected to mention that the graphics are organized (i.e., scattered)
throughout a myriad of subfolders, depending on the products' modules, models,
and conditions. So, I can't just do one or move the giant graphics folder
structure.
Thanks for trying to help!

Hi Alison,
Hi Menahem,
I have a set of FrameScript scripts for solving this problem. See

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thank you very
much.

Lise's advice should work. Peter's advice to move the graphics folder
to where FM's looking for it also should work.
Of note, your LSP should not be altering your project like this in any
way. Make sure they know not to do this again going forward, as it
adds unnecessary additional work. You're pa
Stab in the dark, as I'm not a Frame expert, but when I've encountered
this, when Frame tells me the graphic is missing and opens a dialog box
asking for me to indicate where the graphic is, if I find the first one, if
the rest of them are in the same folder, it'll re-link the rest of them.

At the book level, highlight all of the chapter files and press Enter (opens
all files). Frame will ask to reconcile the first "missing" graphic and
remember this as it opens the other chapters. At least this has worked for me
with Frame 7.2, as long as all of the graphics are in the same folder
Wouldn't it be easier to move the graphics folder? In any case, all you
need to do is find the first graphic and make sure "use new path for all
graphics" (may not be exact wording) is selected.
