Thank you David, Charles and Rick. It is going to take some time to digest this all. I will use "very slow", as I am very anal retentive about image quality. I also did upload the film/video to www.archive.org a few hours ago, and cannot open it. Par for the course.

I'm using cyber direct power director, a pretty basic software. You can upload directly online, which I have had no problem doing until now, with the longer work. My internet connection is very fast, and I don't use wifi. My tech abilities are not much far more advanced than on/off. ---

It definitely can be done. I've done it at 1080. Some ideas: Re-export it from your editing program and double check settings, or use Compressor, or even QuickTime can save videos in different formats. Or Final Cut X and maybe other programs can upload directly to YouTube. Make sure the video

Hi, I am having a lot of trouble uploading my films online. Theoretically, everything is checked and right with youtube, but after 9 hours, each time it says cannot upload. I've tried different methods. Is there some trick to this? Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.
