usb wireless keyboard not working at boot menu

Hi, I have a usb wireless keyboard/mouse combo which doesnt work at beastie. It works before and after the boot menu perfectly fine. But not in beastie so I am not able to enter to single user/safe mode etc. unless I plug in a ps2 keyboard. Do you know a workaround for this? Thanks, Evren __
