AL, I have never had an issue with mouse or keyboard.
Prior to HAL, setup was more of an issue and stable once configured. Now
setup is no issue, and it's stable. Seems like a positive move. Only issue
I experienced was migrating from xorg non-HAL to xorg HAL. Onc

instructions

the disk will boot up on the new machine no problem provided hardware
compatibility. Get rid of any label/fstab work you've done
fstab mounts the glabel location eg /dev/ufs/ it should be
portable across systems since that info is stored as meta data on the drive.

any other services running on the system which may be consuming mem? eg
postgresql? You can start eliminating unnecessary services, and limiting
memory by app. php.ini contains a knob for this. Plus as mentioned
0 MB
of RAM. This is incorrect. The RES column also included shared mem which
is only loaded once but counted on each line. So if the size of the shared
mem in use by httpd is 17MB, in total it would be consuming 27MB, not the
180. So chasing memory savings here is probably not pursuing low ha

not in the base system, things like apache and
postgresql are part of ports not base system. Things like cp and tar are
part of base system and not ports. FreeBSD userland and kernel is not part
of ports system these are updated seperately using things like
freebsd-update.

on you goal here, but if this is a repetitive thing any
of the major scripting lang Perl,PHP,Python etc is easily up to the task.
Otherwise OpenOffice merge works great too once you get the hang of it.
