. This is a 6-core AMD64 system.
I have WITH_BSD_SORT defined but I DO NOT have WITH_LIBCPLUSPLUS defined
in /etc/src.conf. I'm also using the stock gcc in base and not clang.

Not a very useful error message.
I just installed it (9-CURRENT AMD64) and it works just fine for me. At
least, the basic functionality seems to be there.
I didn't do more testing because I can't stand it.

I remember running into this situation while debugging ISDN drivers,
many of which use IF_HANDOFF(). Most moden ethernet drivers don't seem
to use it any more.

I'm using a G450 with a TFT which makes using the HAL necessary. I
merely copied the old mga_hal_drv.o from 4.2.1 and it works just fine.

The only thing I can suggest is attaching the disk to a Linux system
and copying the data to tape or CD. Or reinstall Linux with an EXT2
partition and copy the data there.

I just made the comment re: inode-per-inode because AFAIK that's the
way dump/restore will work. I'm not aware of an advantage or disadvantage
to using dump/restore (except for restoring from tape) but thought that
cpdup might be easier to understand and use.
