What are you going to do with this server? I'd probably recommend 4.8 for
stability and speed. 5.1 isn't really as fast as it could be yet, mainly
because there is still work going on right now to make it faster/more
stable.

Long story short, setup /etc/rc.conf for nfs on client and server.
Setup /etc/exports on server for clients that need access.
Restart or start nfs
Should be good from there.
Oh, also make sure kernels are compiled with nfs support.
