but only see it through VNC (I am currently abroad) and I see a

To solve your mixxer problem disable the stander mixer plugin and
use the oss mixer plugin.
plugin.remove('mixer')
plugin.activate('ossmixer')
That should get sound working again. To speed up teh remote you might
try nicing the lircd.

On the subject of pc-to-tv adapters, I used one I got from maplin
electronics here in the UK with freevo. It had two buttons on it, one
was an overscan button and the other was a bugger up the picture button
which made the screen go green?!?!

have my ATI 9000 Radeon to work with Tv-Out and XV - I managed that
with kernel 2.4.x to have 800x600 on both monitor and TV but since
2.6.x I can only reach weird combinations of 640x480 and 80

another freevo box, and since this motherboard was short on PCI/AGP
slots, instead of use a video card with TV out, I bought a "pc-to-tv"
