Howdy,
If you can read files from the flash drive, there are two reasons I
have seen why writing fails.
The most common is that you have too many files in the root directory.
Flash drives typically are formatted with a FAT filesystem of some kind.
When you format a FAT drive(FAT16 or FAT32 or
I had this problem too and finally got to users and trashed the one no longer
needed - this did fix the problem, so I see they still have not made a fix for
this problem, like an uninstall should work.

I upgraded to the G5 suddenly last year when my Quicksilver G4 had
some sort of board failure and roached the system drive. The
I bought a HP 940d CD/DVD burner to replace the dead optical drive
when I got my 2.7ghz G5 PowerMac. I installed it and it worked fine
for a year or so. When I installed the drive I removed the bezel from
the end of the tray, which allows the tray to push the door on the
case of the G5 open
