Yes, you could edit the baseball.rec file to change the name of your team.
However I should tell you that when you install version 3 or 4 it will delete
that file and the saved game file. I had to do that because they are in a
slightly different format for the new version.

However, I remember some of the Sapi 4 voices had echo like Mary in
Space, Mike in Space, and I am not sure it was the voices themselves,
Sapi4, or there are echo features in the SpeechLib.dll file.

Well, Microsoft Anna is free for Windows Vista users, and it is better
than Sam. Problem is you have to have Vista which isn't free.
I'll look around and see if Microsoft has a backport for Sapi 5.3 for
XP, or if this is a Vista only thing.

much, I havn't even beat the sim as it currently is.
Yeah I admit the audio would be a pain.
However even if jim just set the anouncer and some other sapi voices
