Which is why I use an external for backup and an external for coman use. In fact most stuff exists on the external drive for that reason. on all systems the drives are devided into bits. a small one for the os, and a large one for data and user settings. Hi Charles. The chain saw sounds like a rapidly going mota until you pick it up, sort of like a car engine idling or a road drill. Re: [Audyssey] Mota link
Hi tom. Actually, I'm going to need to get another drive stuckk in my desktop soon expressly for holding audio and music, sinse I've only got about 50 mb free at the moment. I use an external drive to backup, but I'd rather not have two of them on the go sinse that would get confusing. Luckily, we do know someone who can probably put one in for me, and I'll likely need to do it before christmas of this year sinse otherwise I'll be running out of space. I will say though on the slow down issue, regular defragging has helped considderably with computer speed, even though I've only got 4450 gb and have filled about 400 of that. Beware the grue! Re: [Audyssey] win trucker question
Hi Thomas, From the trucker.txt file; Thank you for checking out my text to speech version of trucker. The original trucker game was written by Hughes Glantzberg in 1985. There was also a popular version by Bill Pogue named big rig. Both of them were dos text only versions. (no sounds) I hope that you enjoy this windows Microsoft sapi5 text to speech version with sounds. So yeah, diesel and gasoline sure were one heck of allot cheaper back then. And I do believe that before diesel became popular for cars, pickup trucks etc it was allot cheaper than gasoline. Hi Thomas, My problem with the zigzagging ramps would not have been with the math. It would have been with the sound placement of the barrels rolling down the zigzagging ramps and trying to depict that some were on higher ramps and some on lower ramps and some were taking the short cut down the ladders. Re: [Audyssey] Could I have some hents please?
Hi Curt, Spoiler space for Awesome Homer level 7. In level 7 the first two cars just randomly move back and forth left and right. The next car does a good job of getting in your way. But the closer you are to it, the slower that it gets in front of you. So wait until you are very close and then move to the left or right of it. The next two cars do not get in your way as much, but they will cause you to spin out via oil or bananas. What I do is to get over to one side and as soon as I hear the oil or chimp voice I mash the arrow key to go to the other side and thus avoid the oil or bananas. The last car with Gonk is not too hard to stay behind and then just move along side of once you are close. I hope that helps. [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi list. I have a question for those of you who have played smugglers 4 by neils bower games. I bought the game ages ago, and gave up with it as the screen just looked a total mess with jaws, but things seem to be a bit better now, I don't know if that's down to different display settings or what. but anyway, could some kind soul please tell me how do I access the options menu, in order to turn off the stupid game music which drowns out jaws almost completely, and I want to enable the blind players mode. unfortunately I can't seem to find an options menu even after starting the new game. any help would be very much appreciated. I know its possible as I think I did it years ago, but now I can't figure it out. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Castaways: Disapearing Buildings
Please send me a saved game file. No one else has ever reported this bug before. Boy it is certainly strange too! I've been trying to build a ship for days now, RL time. Whenever it gets started, the ship disappears and the bottom two rows of my map change. I tried building a house in one of the bottom rows and that disappeared too. Jeremy, should I send you my game file for this or is this an already-known bug? Thanks. Re: [Audyssey] win trucker question
Hi Jim, Personally I think you ought to just leave everything...there's something about an older trucker game that appeals to me. But if one were going to update the fuel prices, you would also update the rest of the dollar values as well. BFN Jim The highways will be safer now that the price of gasoline is so high. Re: [Audyssey] Getting the Chainsaw in Awesome Homer
A rapidly going Mysteries of the Ancients? Hmm. I haven't heard anything like that in Jim's game. --- Security is not the absence of danger. The chain saw sounds like a rapidly going mota until you pick it up, sort of like a car engine idling or a road drill. Then, when you duck down and grab it you'll here the chainsaw making it's usual sound as it activates, at that point you can run along sawing through barrels. Beware the grue! Re: [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi Alex. The options menue is actualy on the very first page when you start the game, just hit the lable that says game options. Actually, you'll need to do this whenever you start the game because blind compatibility mode needs to be activated each time you begin as otherwise a lot of stuff in the game won't have readable lables. Hope you can get it to work. Btw, Smugglers 4 should be working with jaws now, previous versions didn't particularly well, but certainly for the last couple of years things should be fine, though perhaps someone who uses jaws would be a better person to ask for advice on the nuts and bolts of playing the game with it.. [Audyssey] I broke castaways, plus soldiers and knights
Hi there. Finally, after an enormous game with 170 people, I broke Castaways. This is an extremely robust game, and I am incredibly impressed! Now, for a question. What's the difference, effectively, between soldiers and knights? Why do I want a knight instead of a soldier? I notice that knights have swords and armor, but since nobody seems to be injured more as a soldier, what's the point? signed: Dakotah Rickard --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org.
