Nice one! I'd take issue and say that the sound design is closer to
superb than ok, but it's all subjective I suppose.

Yeah, got to be pretty linear and relatively straight forward because
they're aiming for a market who aren't used to following audio cues
and clues. It's not going to have many people on this list scratching
their heads for long, but as I said before I'd be happy enough to pay
a couple of quid to have it on my phone for the occasional night time
strole through somewhere scary.

Let's hope it's not too long before it's publicly available via the
app store. If it's not there by Sunday, I'd like to propose a Papa
Party at Will's house lol.

Subject: [Audyssey] Writing with Inform

Hedy all,

Until I can find a real programming language that my brain can
comprehend and or find a manual that's easy to understand, Inform is my
only option for now. I really want to go into programming and make it a
job though if I'm having trouble understanding programming manuals it
makes such a goal seem unachieveable. Then, once I manage to formulate
these concepts in my head, how do I make a game out of it and turn it
into code and make sounds do what I want, etc.

However, for those of you who write in Inform, which do you use to write
it? Notepad and or a text editor and then compile it within the Inform
program?

Also, even though inform is the simple programming language, what does
one start a game off with. Creating a room? Because I notice at the
beginning of Inform games there's release information and extention
inclusions.

Thanks.

Subject: [Audyssey] Creating Accessible Star Wars Games

Hi all,

Thanks to all the discussion about accessible Star Wars games over the
last day or two I've decided to reconsider my position on releasing
some Star Wars projects I've had in mind for litterally years now. It
really has been something I have dreamed of doing as long as I can
remember, and I'm personally fed up with rediculous rules and
procedures that would bar me from persuing my own happiness and
enjoyment. For one thing despite what they say I don't really think
they would try and sue me over it as long as I kept the games as
freeware and specified that these were designed for VI gamers. After
all, it would likely cost them more to take it to court than they
could get out of me in a settlement/lawsuit. About the most they would
do if they found out about the games is get a judgment to have the
content/material removed from my website. That would be a pain in the
butt to be sure, but no biggy as I'm sure someone would slap it up on
Sendspace, Dropbox, etc the next day and share it anyway.

More importantly as I said earlier this has been a dream of mine. Ever
since I was old enough to watch television the first time I saw the
original Star Wars movie I became a serious fan of the movies, books,
toys, games , etc. Just ask my wife as I've got a large glass display
case in my living room filled with hundreds of Star Wars action
figures i've collected since i was three or four years old to the
present. In the mid 90's when the Star Wars PC games began coming out
like Dark Forces, Rebel Asalt, Jedi Knight, etc I purchased each and
everyone. Unfortunately, for me as the games were coming out I was
also really starting to lose my vision so the graphics were pretty
much just blobs of color on the screen. I could play them, sort of,
but had to depend on cheat codes to help me as everything was fuzzy
and not very clear. All the same, I was very happy witht the games,
and played them constantly. once I lost my sight I was pretty
disappointed over the fact I owned all these cool games and couldn't
play them. While in college I decided I'd be a programmer and write my
own Star Wars games. Now, 12 years later I still really haven't done
it, because of copyrights and licensing. Both of which had originally
been created without any thought or planning for special cases such as
being barred from a certain product based on disability. So what to do
about it?

Well, the answer seams quite simply. I should do what my heart tells
me is right, and that is to follow my personal dreams. Go ahead and
take the plunge and just write the games I want to play regardless of
rules and regulations. After all, i have the means and motive. to do
it. I shouldn't let that go because of some company's short-sighted
polacies.

When it comes to the means I'm litterally the perfect developer to do
the job. For one thing I have personal experience with the games
themselves so have a pretty good idea of what the final product should
be like. I went to college, learned to program, and obviously have the
technical skills to create a full 3D FPS game similar to the
originals. I've got the original media to work with. In fact, I still
own all the original software cds in my closet, and all I'd need to do
is grab the discs, unpack the gob files, and grab the sounds, music,
etc I'd need for the project. Finally, I just spent like two years
working on the Genesis Engine which was designed specifically for this
type of game. Since all that work is done I have the tools to do the
job at my disposal.

When it comes to motivation I have plenty of that as well. It was
precisely because of the FPS games of the 1990's Tomb Raider, Jedi
Knight, Doom, Quake, Soldier of Fortune, etc that got me into writing
accesible games in the first place. When I showed up on Audyssey
around 2000 or 2001 I looked around and was disappointed the only game
that was up to my previous standards was Shades of Doom. Everything
else was disappointing, and not at all what I had been hoping for.
Which brings me back to my point.

Back around 1998 my favorite Star Wars game was Mysteries of the Sith.
For one reason it was the first Star Wars game to feature Mara Jade as
a playable character, and I've always been a fan of her's since she
first showed up in Timithy Zon's book, Heir to the Empire. Not only
that it was a good game with decent graphics for the time, lots of
action, and it was fun. I've pretty much decided that I should start
with Mysteries of the Sith as it is both my favorite SW title to date,
and would be a great introduction

Hi DJC,

Thanks for your message! This is how Moby, your dog, works:

When you give a command, such as Moby, find the gun, Moby will

start
barking from a certain direction - for example to your right.

This means
that what you aim to find, in this case the gun, will be

somewhere to your
right. So what you do is turn towards Moby, so that you face him

directly
and then start walking. Moby will continue to bark untill you

reach what
you're looking for. With buildings, Moby will bring continue to

bark inside

untill you reach the center of the building.
Moby will always find the most direct route, even if it's through

a

building. And to hush Moby, press the alt-key one time.

Greets,

Richard

Hi there, we will gladly accept testers for these devices upon

Android OS and Symbian Operating Systems from Nokia.
I am writing the client and future programs in the following

languages for easier portability:
C# for Windows Mobile, Python for BraillePlus and Icon, and Java
for Android and Symbian. This will make 3 ports easier than the
fourth port since C# and Java are so similar it's not even funny.
Since this client is freeware just like RSGames version, everyone
will get to test it and based off of your feedback future
software will be shaped to support fixes and changes the client
will get. Thanks, and you all take care. When the client is
complete I will announce its release!

Hi all PDA lovers out there. BrailleSoft and RSGames have teamed

up to bring
you the RSGames Client Mobile version! The client is NOT yet

available.
With this version, users can play RSGames titles like Monopoly

and Uno for
free, chat, and have quite a wonderful time right from the

following

devices:
APH BraillePlus, Level Star's Icon, Windows Mobile Smartphone,

other Windows
Mobile devices, Freedom Scientific's PAC Mate 4.1 and earlier,

PAC Mate
Omni, and really soon, National Braille Press BrailleWizard! I

understand on
the site it says that software wouldn't necessarily be PM

specific to better
target other devices, however I haven't put anything in place

just yet.
However when it does happen, rest assured you PM users won't be

left out.

Once this client is complete it will be found on
BrailleSoft.net/rsclient.htm. Already the client from RSGames

runs on
Windows, Mac, and Linux. However it uses components not found on

Windows
Mobile and BraillePlus and Icon. This partnership now means that

users on
Mobile devices can play against other mobile users and even other

desktop
users without problems. Enjoy and I hope to see more of you on

RSGames

servers!

Can someone who has the PC copy grab the sounds from the game

and upload

the
pack for some of us who would like to have the effects please?

That'd be
great, I found a soundpack full of marvel vs street fighter, but

it seems

to
be the only fighting-game soundpack I can ever find.

members of this list, automatically get it in our inboxes? If so,
something's screwy somewhere, because, as I say, I haven't received it. If
members don't get a copy, where's the best source to download it rather

Mysteries of

One idea I have been thinking of is producing a handful of USA

classic

discovered the
classic DND text adventure style game still can be quite

enough adventures and puzzles in it. What do you all think of

this idea?

Cheers!

Beware of the Death key.
by Phil Vlasak.
My wife was haply playing a game on her new Vista computer when

all of a

sudden,
her computer died.
At first she thought that Jaws had crashed so she shut it down

and

re-started it.
No speech came forth.
Next she re-booted the computer and no sounds or speech came up.
Well, I said, it must be the headphones.
So she checked the cord from the headphones to the computer and

they were

still plugged in.
Then she pulled out the headphone cable and tested the speakers

and

no sound came forth.
She next tried the volume up key on her keyboard and still

nothing.
Then she remembered the death key, and she pressed it and glory

be, sound

and speech was restored!
What is this death key you may ask?
For the blind it is the mute key.
The computer's sounds stay muted even through warm and cold boots

and can

only come back to life when the key is pressed again.
So beware of that key and remember its location as your finger

too might

slip and press the death key.

Hi, Thomas I really do agree with you on this. If I don't have
the money to buy a game then I won't play it or buy it. But of
course immature kids just try to download it for free and play it
for free. Don't get on my case here because I know their are
kids/teenagers on this list. People just try to do the easiest
things which in this case is pirated games. I personally don't
like the idea of this at all.

Hi,
Well, there are many points of view about intelectual copyrights,
but
the fact of the matter is if you pirate software you are hurting
the
company in question in one way or another. High quality sound
effects,
graphics, and music can get very expensive. A game developer
needs money
to purchase these things, and if you pirate the games then that
is less
money to use on the next game. That isn't even considering the
labor
costs involved in working on a game 10 to 20 hours a week.
Let us look at this in this way. Which would produce more income
for me.
I could work at McDonald's for 20 hours a week and get a pay
check every
two weeks, or I can work for 20 hours a week for an entire year
with no
pay and have some young, upstart, pirates steel all of my work
for free.
Now, if those very same pirates were forced to work for a year,
and then
were expecting to be paid at the end of that year and were not
paid what
would they say? I am pretty certain they would be screaming for
some
heads to roll, and want their money the day before yesterday.
The absolute truth is a lot of pirates have no experience in
business
and are just kids who have not had real life experience in
trying to
earn a living. They have some foolish notion that they deserve
everything served to them on a golden platter without paying for
it.
Once they grow up a little they see everyone needs to work to
make a
living, and steeling is steeling no matter what intelectual spin
you put
on it.
I don't know how old you are, but when you say things like, it
all
depends on what you think work and effort should cost, shows a
lack of
experience in business. A business requires materials,
employees, and a
certain percent of proffet. If you don't have enough money to
buy all
the materials to create a product you can't make the product, if
you
have no money for employees you have no one to produce the
products, and
if you have no proffet you can't purchase food, pay the rent, pay
the
phone bill, and so on. Those are facts, and not open to
intelectual
opinions.

Parham wrote:
Perhaps. And perhaps not. Everyone is working on what their
produce, but I
think it all goes back to you choosing, in your mind, how much
work and
effort deserves being paid for. People have different opinions
on that. I do
not tend to defend my friend, nore crytisize her, but am just
stating facts.
I have never played Judgement Day, so I can't say. I have
played Super Liam
though, the demo, at least, and it wasn't different from the
many
sidescrollers up to that point. Of course the rest are
different, and that's
why I choose to take a neutral position in this discussion,
because it's
 going on a narrow ledge.

This is what I say. The quicker kids learn about money, the
better.

Hi, Thomas I really do agree with you on this. If I don't have
the money to buy a game then I won't play it or buy it. But of
course immature kids just try to download it for free and play
it

 Hi,
I would recommend rereading the manual. The beeping tones are the sound
that means you are off the ground, but are below 1 feat. The steady
tone is the beacon that you need to turn towards to continue in the race.
 HTH,

I am interested to know who does the voices for the menus. Whoever she

more accessible games, because she has a top quality voice. I really
enjoyed that touch to the game.
Finally, the cut scenes are really cool. I really liked those as well. I

Hey, Tom that is cool! I got a psp of my own. The game that came with it is
not accessible I tried playing no go. I really don't care for the Family guy

is accessible once you get the hang of it. No it doesn't talk but you can

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] psp gaming

 Heya Tyler and all.

Well today I went out and, as my mother used to say spent money like a
drunken sailor lol. Fortunately it was money I have been saving for
just such a frivolous shopping spree. I went ahead and picked up a psp
system one of the package deals. I did some serious thinking about the
point you raised about buying new versus used with these newer systems
and although sure I could have saved money in the short run it very well
might cost more in the long run. I am very glad I did now that I see
that little drive on the back, somebody could jack that up without there
being any visible sign of it or they might not even know it and then
you've got an expensive paperweight. I am afraid I did not get as good
a price as you quote however the package I got came with a 1gb memory
stick in case I want to screw around with the music and/or movies. I
know the menus are not accessible of course but my wife is willing to
help me out with it even though she thinks I'm nuts for spending the
money, so that is great. In fact she is out trying to set the time zone
and other junk that you have to set before you can do anything else. I
also picked up a protective case and screen protector for it to help
keep it looking nice. For some reason this one did not come with the
cleaning cloth but I have several of those around here you can just use
the kind that are made for cleaning glasses according to gamefaqs they
 are supposed to work fine.

The package also came with some family guy episodes or something on UMD
which I have no interest in whatsoever and will probably try to unload
on somebody who wants it, and a game called daxster which I know
absolutely nothing about. I'll probably take a look around on gamefaqs
and see if I can find something on it.

Thanks very much for the very detailed description you gave of the
system. That is an awesome job particularly when you do not have your
hands on one at the moment. The only discripancy I have found so far is
where you say there is a button on the back edge of the unit to open the
umd drive, I do not find a button there is just a little detent in the
case so you can get a fingertip under the right corner of the door. I
will have my wife check out all the buttons to see if one of them is an
eject button I would think you'd want one as you would not want to just
open that door when the drive is going.

Well that's about all for now I am too tired to fool with it much
tonight got it out and got it charged up so will have at it tomorrow.

 Best regards,

 Tom

 Hi Claudio,
Sorry, but I have to beg to disagree with you. Statistics show that more
professional developers would choose Java over C++ or other languages.
It is fairly easy to learn, has an extremely designed object oriented
mottle, and is less error prone than other programming languages. Just
because you, yourself, are not able to instantly understand my little
Java Hello World program I sent you doesn't mean it isn't easy to learn
and use if you don't put your mind to it instead of complaining about
it. Remember nothing worth while comes easy if you aren't willing to put
 the effort into it.
Anyway, as I do not want to offend you with mmy thoughts and opinions
perhaps I should stop here, and close on this topic.
 Cheers.

 Here are the ground rules:

You are in an enclosed area roughly the size of a basketball court
There are no weapons or foreign objects
Everyone is wearing a cup (so no kicks to the groin)
The children are merciless and will show no fear

 Hi,

I have put Monopoly version 8 up on my web site.

File name winpoly8.exe File size 664k bytes

In version 8 I fixed the alt tab problem and you can now have custom
tokens, currency, houses and hotels. You can also edit the
MonopolyCustom.txt file to change Go, Jail, Free Parking, Income Tax,
Luxury Tax, Railroad, Utility, Bank, Community Chest and Chance. I have
also added the features to roll the dice to see who goes first and for a
person to resign from the game.

The file winpoly8.exe can be found on my free windows sapi5 text to speech
 games page.

 Hi Michael,
I sincerely apologize for the disappointment and hard feelings you have
about this decision, but you also need to see my side of things as well.
First, I rescued Montezuma's Revenge from James North for a lot of
reasons I liked the game, it was fairly along in development, and it
looked like it could be completed fairly quickly. As it turned out I
took on a project I have regretted every single day of my life since I
took charge of it. Montezuma's Revenge has done nothing but bring misery
 and grief into my life.
Right off the bat before I even received the source by mail I was
getting hate mail from James North's enemies demanding refunds, a
complete game the day before yesterday, and threats of law suits, etc.
After I received the game's source code I quickly realized i would not
be able to complete the game using his source code. It was written in
Visual Basic 6, which I no longer owned the IDE/compiler for, and
DirectX 8 which was already phased out of general use. The level editor
that James North had created wasn't accessible which means I couldn't
even add new levels without a total rewrite. So in the end I chose to
rewrite everything from scratch. Not an easy or exactly fun prospect.
Around December of 2006 the private testers and I discussed it and
thought it would be cool if my rendition of Montezuma's Revenge was
closer to the original. It was decided to upgrade all levels to make it
so, and in the end it was this exact copying of the game that got me in
hot water with the copyright holders.
Months later as the game was winding down in development along comes the
copyright holders of the Montezuma's Revenge Montezuma's Return games
ordering us to cease and desist production of our game. I agreed to do
so. I told them that the next major release would have nothing in common
with their games, and the issue was closed.
As a result of this copyright issue I decided to think about how to
rework the game not only to avoid the copyright issues but make a new
and exciting game out of the ashes of Montezuma's Return. I did run a
poll to see if people would be more interested in a side-scroller or
FPS, and the side-scroller format won. However, following the poll I
became very depressed, disappointed, and found myself unable to pick up
where I left off with the game. To explain it better I was totally
emotionally, physically, burned out on working on the game. I spent a
year and a half putting every moment of free time into the game, and was
totally sick to death of it.
Michael, in your email you talk about how Montezuma's Revenge was a game
you always dreamed of playing. Well, as a game developer I have dreams
too. I have always dreamed of a 3D FPS style treasure hunting game like
Tomb Raider that I can play. I discovered through the course of
development of Montezuma's Revenge I learned side-scrollers of that era
and style no longer captures my attention. I simply grew board with the
game, and grew very depressed of having to finish a game I no longer
wanted to make. In short I was following someone else's dream not my own.
Finally, you brought up the issue of trust. Yes, I can understand why
some gamers might compare me with James North, and feel I am being less
than honest with them. I am not, and try not to be dishonest with anyone
regarding this decision. It is simply I no longer want to create a
side-scroller now that I am forbidden from completing Montezuma's
Revenge or Montezuma's Return. I just am not up to rewriting a new
 side-scroller from scratch.
The way I feel about it right now is if gamers really really must
absolutely have a side-scroller I might as well patch the Montezuma's
Return game engine with some patches, create a couple of new levels,
give it some lame generic name, and put it out there as abandon ware.
Even if I complete the side-scroller game I have no desire to upgrade or
finish it beyond what is necessary to fulfill my orders. I just want to
be free of this James North and his games business.

 Sincerely,
 Thomas Ward

At this stage I got as far as the beginning of level3.
I lost no lives previously, so I should have 4 lives, 3 lives at the start
of the game and one life picked up.
So at the beginning of level3 an enemy got me and I lost a life but then
the game locks up and it displays an error message.
does anyone have an e-mail address for thommy carol, the developer of this
 game?

 Hi Chrissy and all.

Ok that is strange, I have not had that particular problem, although yes
the timing is critical and if you are too fast or too slow on walking
and jumping they will definitely get you. I am not sure what else to
 recommend at this point.

 Good luck.

Hmmm, I got an idea, what if we put all the Audyssey issues in one file.
Meaning putting all the magazines in to one file. Let me know what you

have quite a load of things already pluss the inteviews.
Pluss the online sources to other things if just linked to.
I suppose we could have something that would be part of audyssey
or part of audyssey.org, I mean lets face it all that exists up
there is just email lists.
No home page I have seen just has email lists.
Maybe some sort of wiki or just the actual book.

 Hi Kuvvosh,
Hmmm.. I'd have to think about that some. Obviously, some of the
features you are asking for would be practical in all types of FPS
games. For example armour classes, defence values for certain enemies,
dinamic melee ratings based on the weapon you are using, etc would be
very useful. However, the engine is not specifically going to be a
typical DND dice throwing RPG engine.
However, I do plan to add some sort of special powers which are optional
which could be used in making a magical type game or equally could fit
in a Star Wars typ game. For example the lightning option could be used
between two wizards or two Jedi. Same goes for illusion, distract,
 blinding, etc.

 Kuvvosh wrote:
What I mean by Leveling, is XP based, like a RPG has. I'm going to need
this for the game I'm working on.

Hello Jose, I think these games have been mentioned
to you already, but
two of the best war/action/simulation type games for
us that I know of
are Lone Wolf and GMA Tank Commander both from GMA
Games. In case you
missed the description of them, Lone Wolf is a
simulation of a world war
II type submarine where you have to pilot your sub,
evade enemy mine
fields and other obstacles, and destroy certain
enemy targets in order
to complete your mission. GMA Tank Commander is a
simulator of a modern
type tanke with various weapons both defensive and
offensive and you
have to drive your tank through various types of
terrain and defeat
various enemies. One of the high points of tank
commander in my opinion
is that in one of the levels you have a group of
friendly tanks that
fight with you and that you have to help support. I
have not seen this
done much in many accessible games.

 Hope this is helpful.

 Tom

Unfortunately not, both are commercial, but being
Gma games, both have
 very
convenient demos wich allow you to play the first
level, and wich don't
 have
any limits on the amount of time you can keep them
on your computer, so
 you
can download and play them as much as you like (it
took me three goes
 before
I got to grips with Lone wolf).

X our from vip gameszone is also a war style maze
shooter game, but I'd
recommend that you wait until you've got some dosh
before downloading the
demo, sinse it's one of those limited demos which
will only work once on
 your computer.

As to free war type games though, well there are
several arcade style
 games
with a war theme, but nothing as totally simulation
based as the Gma stuf,
where you get proper mission objectives etc, and
it's not just all about
 how
many enemies you can slay in a given amount of time.

Anyway, if you fancy a more arcade style rack up
score type war game,
 there
are several that spring to mind:
The recently released chopper challenge from X cite
interactive at
 http://www.x-sight-interactive.net/ in which you
fight someone with a
 hellecopter and rockits.

then, there's Enemy attack from Ken downy's site
 http://www.tbrn.net/modgirl/Ken's%20games where you
have a cannon and are
trying to stop an incoming fleet of aircraft.

If someone can post a link to it, you might also
like Dark destroyer, a
 free
space invaders style fast action game, originally
created by Philip
benne-fal, with some of imho the best voice acting
for an audio game
 villain.

Finally, it's not exactly a war game, but I can
deffinately recommend
treasuremania from Lighttech interactive, imho one
of the most complex
 free
rack up score style games out now, with some great
and atmospheric
background audio. You can find it at

http://www.lighttechinteractive.com/webpage/index.php

I ope some of these are useful to you.

 Beware the Grue!

 Dark.

Please?

Which of the games listed is your personal favorite?
 I'm thinking to
myself: Let's see if he picks his own game? For
me, it would be a hard
question to answer. Different games depending on my
mood and a time
 factor.
Monty has few keystrokes and is easy to play. Tank
Commander, SOD, and
 Lone
Wolf have more keystrokes but are a real blast to
play, as Aliens in the
Outback. Sarah is a really fun game of exploration
and puzzle solving
whether you are a fan of the Harry Potter series or
not, but I think it
means more to a fan, of which I am one. All the
games are great.

 Hi,
There are quite a few action games for the blind
that are accessible,
but very few of them are free. Below is a list of
games I personally
enjoy with links to get more information about
them. Keep in mind my
list does include commercial games which means to
unlock the demos you
will need to buy a product key from the company
that produced them.

 1. Shades of Doom.
This is a modern FPS game similar to the popular
game doom, created by
GMA Games, with 9 levels, and heart pounding
excitement and adventure.
To download a free demo visit:
 http://www.gmagames.com
 2. Sarah And The Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Become Sarah, a teenage witch, as she breaks into
Hogworts and explores
the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along the
way you will meat
several characters from Harry Potter including the
ghosts, Filtch the
 caretaker, and more.
 To download a demo visit:
 http://www.pcsgames.net
 3. Aliens In the Outback.
A modern clone of Space Invaders with a twist.
Defend earth from
hundreds of invading ships, robot landers, in
Australia's outback.
 To download a demo visit:
 http://www.draconisEntertainment.com
 4. GMA Tank Commander.
Take command of a modern tank as you get to carry
out lone and joint
missions against an array of enemy tanks,
helicopters, ammo trucks, and
more. It is one of the best games out their for
the blind.
You can get a copy of the demo from:
 http://www.gmagames.com
 5. Rail Racer.
Far into the future after the worlds population has
been blinded comes a
new sport called rail racing. You get to drive your
rail racer along
tracks at speeds of 255 MPH, jump over jumps, take
breath taking turns,
take loops in the track, avoid hitting force
fields, race against an
artificial racer or race online with other gamers
to see who is the
 champion rail racer.
To grab the demo go to:
 http://www.blindadrenaline.com
 6. Montezuma's Return formally Montezuma's Revenge.
Five hundred years ago Emperor Montezuma left
behind an underground
fortress filled with gold, precious gems, and other
treasures. You must
explore 11 death-dealing levels filled with traps,
skulls, spiders, and
snakes to face off with the final battle battle
between you and
 Montezuma's skull.
To download the current test release visit:
 http://www.usagames.us

 Cheers.

Okay. the first thing is, have you got the ordinary
Win Frotz or Win frotz
Tts? If you want the program to speak to you via
Sapi, you'll want ththe
 tts
version, if you'd prefer to use your screen reader,
just get the normal
one, I myself prefer to read it with Hal, but
that's me.

Once you start Win Frotz (either version)you should
get an open a Z code
game dialogue which works exactly the same as the
open a new file in
something like word. This will not be spoken, and
you'll need your screen
 reader here.

Once you've found the game you want to play and
pressed enter, the game
should open with the begining text of whatever game
you've just started.
 If
your using Tts and want Sapi to speak to you, I
believe you have to go and
enable it in the tools menue (there should be a set
of options called
speech), and then you should get Sapi reading the
game text.

i'm not sure about the various short cut keys etc in
Sapi, sinse as I
 said,
I prefer using Hal in Win frotz, but you should be
able to find them in
 the
speech bit of the options menue I think.
 Hth.

 Beware the Grue!

 Dark.
