I would look and see if the unwanted extension is on the end of the file

Hi Bryan,

I am sorry that creating the trivia file and getting it to show up is
giving you so much trouble. The thing is, I had no idea when I created
the game back in the dos days that Windows would make it so hard to name
a file what you wanted to name it. I will bet you anything that windows
is putting a dot txt at the end of your file name and thus my game is not
seeing the file because it is looking for the dot tgf extension. I think
that you might have to either turn full names on in windows or name the
file at the command prompt. Maybe someone else can say this better than
I can. I will also think about making a trivia file maker program as you
suggested.

[Audyssey] Creating Trivia files?

2008-12-02 Thread Bryan Peterson
Could someone please refresh my memory on how to create trivia files in the
trivia game? I know it's supposed to have a .tgf extention but I still can't
get the file to show up when I load the trivia game. I'm working on a Lord of
the RIngs trivia file and I've been trying for several weeks to get it to show
up in the game. I created the file in Notepad and saved it as a .txt file but
with the .tgf extention as it says in the instructions. But the program won't
recognize it even though I saved it in the correct folder. It's really
frustrating because I've done it before. I just can't remember how I pulled it
off. I almost wish there was a file creator similar to the one in the new
Monopoly. It might simplify the process.

rename the extention. I think you have to save as a .txt file, then rename
the extention. Notepad would be good for this i think.

[Audyssey] Creating trivia files in Jim Kitchen's game

2007-02-04 Thread Bryan Peterson
Hi all,
Well, just downloaded Jim Kitchen's trivia game and have found it to be a lot
of fun. But I can't seem to create my own files. It says to save it as an MS
Dos format .tg file but that file type isn't in the list of possible ones in
Microsoft Word, Notepad or even Word Pad. Am I missing something here? I've got
a trivia file all ready but I can't seem to convert it to the proper format.
Any help would be appreciated.
